Newby Hall Show

Hi John

CITP is on 22nd May, Classic Cars is on 17th July.

Lorraine and I can't make the CITP event, we may go to Classic Car if enough are going

Steve

Just checked the "Cars in the Park" at Newby Hall, and the date has been changed to 22nd May
And not 8th May as previously advertised.

I've helped out at the last 5 or so CITP with parking.

Its hard to get everyone in as a group when people arrive at different times as PCGB come along in one group and TIPEC come as another etc... but everyone usually ends up mixed up as they all arrive at different times and its not practical to get everyone in one group.

I usually ask people to park with enough space inbetween them for the other cars in their group if there are 3 or 4 missing etc that way they can come and join you when they arrive but often people in different cars randomly park in different areas and get in the way of other people in groups [:(]. Or someone else comes along and buys a ticket on the day so no room was left for them.

We do try and get all the groups together though. I was on the gate last time though so could only send people in the right area and the other helpers had not done it before so it takes a meeting or two to get used to the best way to direct people to park were you need them. One of the biggest problems is getting people to park in a straight line. As soon as one line goes out of whack it causes problems as everyone needs a safe route to leave at any time and if the cars start to get too close you end up having to leave gaps in rows for safety.

The organiser got his new Porsche for the last meet at Harewood and i have my 928 now so the management and helpers are pro Porsche [;)].

If you want to come and help out then just contact Chris through the CITP site linked above, by arriving early you get to see pretty much everyone arrive and hear all the engines etc so its pretty cool, and nice empty roads on the way there and no queues if you arrive early as well [8D].
