Wednesday 24th August with Easytrack

Myself and Kasbridge have already booked and I think Oldtimer and ChrisW are on the fringe of booking. Quite a few of the Scottish GT3 brigade are pitching up too.

Anyone else?

BTW we've already booked a couple of garages to set the kettle up and there's a discount code to tempt you too. [;)]

I thought it was sold out --- must consult the Oracle [:)]

Not sold out according to their website but I would guess that there will be a few classic race cars on because the following weekend is the Gold cup. Get it booked ASAP! [;)]

It's saying I've used the discount code earlier ... ?

Has somebody booked for me ?

Or shall I just telephone Easytrack on Monday ?

Cx.

I don't see why it shouldn't work as Keith of Easytrack said it was a permanent code for PCGB members. [&:] I've sent you an e-mail with all the information.

Am now booked in.......as of this morning.....Marcus said there had been a flurry of bookings , will toss coin to decide which weapon to use , default is 964RS which is developing a nice patina of chippings.[:D] .

I think Chris is now sorted too....so that already makes four of us.....now, where is Jason hiding? [:D]

[&:] Still telling me that I've used the code already ... tried telephoning them ... have just sent an email with my telephone number !!

Yes all sorted, a code with a twist [;)]

Now, what to drive ... passenger rides are a given ... 964 ... 993 ... Cayman R ... 996 GT3r ... ?

May have to sort shift in the GT3r ... and it may be too fast ... [&:]

Have re-insured the Cayman without track day insurance, but could I really do £6k's worth of damage to it ??

I'm no longer sure of the value of track day insurance ...

The Cayman is a beautifuly resolved car ... but on road tyres ... etc

Well having now seen your spec for it:

I'm voting that we see the Cayman R and find out what it can do! [:)]

Steve, I'm also looking to attend the Oulton Park event if there's any places left, can you send me the Easy Track discount code please.

David

The day is almost upon us....and the weather here in the NW has been perfect today...

Got the car out , pumped up the Toyos , must have forgotten to do it after the last trackday at Goodwood on 14 July !!
Car not particularly clean but its too hot to be polishing.

Went over to Tech9 to see Phil Hindley look at some of the older cars that they are working on , they have a perfect restoration of a 1974 2.7 Carrera , LHD California car in Acid Blue , will be entered for the Club Anniversary Concours next month . Unfortunately has already been bought by a collector/ speculator , the value of these cars being pulled up by stratospheric 1973 Carrera RSs which share same mechanicals.
Had a good look at the Viper Green RSR evocation based on a 72 911 and with full FIA papers , ex Paul Howells.
Twin plug engine but single distributor and pretty noisy , no good for trackdays [:(]

Then off to Unit 11 , met up with Stuart Speed of the mint green 964RS Clubsport ilk , and saw a very desirable blood orange early 911 , 1965 2 litre on Webers , built up by Tuthill's for rally work , FIA papers , probably £100ks worth [8|].

Having gazed at over 250k's worth of early Porsche within an hour and bemused enough only to take 1 pic , drove home in the comparatively modern 964RS and was reminded of how it cannot be rivalled for tautness of controls

....BRILLIANT [:)]

Has been so long now that i've forgotten what mine feel like to drive ![:(] Still awaiting my parts back to put mine back together.
