Next Track Day

If you have tried Oulton, I dont think the others will scare you to be honest! The longer circuits suit the porsche nicely. Silverstone, Donnington, Anglesey etc. For a noive, I'd avoid Cadwell, Combe, Goodwood (all high risk IMHO).

Donington is shut. Huge mounds of earth all over the place. Needs someone with about 3 million to sort it out.

Indeed, but there is a lot of club racing scheduled for it next year, I assume the MSA are expecting it to get sorted for the new season, otherwise its really going to mess with the racing calendars. Last heard they were looking to put it back as was.

Sadly the club are not having a trackday there in 2010 according to the published list. Gutted.

Ian

Have you got a link to the list?

Can't find it on the website.................

Received e-mail from Steve Kevlin on my last day at work, cannot access it from here. I'm registered with club for trackday updates so I'm sure someone will come along soon with the same info.

From memory it was all Castle Combe and Goodwood repeated ad-infinitum and a sole winter trip to Oulton. No Croft (decision on that in New Year), obviously no Donington, still no Cadwell but the usual expensive trip to Silverstone.Anyone want to buy a redundant 964RS?

Ian

Blimey ! Back in 2008 I bought a second 'track' 911 to keep down sarf so I could do the southern tracks without having to do a 400+ mile round haul from Cheshire in the 964RS to get there plus B&B......looks like PCGB have dialled into this so I could justify my purchase [:D]

If you are up for doing either Goodwood or Combe Steve ( ruane) then let me know and I'll co-ordinate with you to do the same day(s). I find the small groupings ideal for having track to yourself especially if you start at the back of the group [;)]. Neither track is entirely safe but both are well suited to your RS.....and although the PCGB days are not the cheapest on the planet , the standard of driving is pretty good IMHO [:)]

Some prices..............[&:]

There's PCGB marketing for you.........first time I've seen the list........[8|]

Something to bear in mind - the PCF Spa days are likely to be 16/17/18 April as this is the only free weekend in April/May (except for Easter) on the Spa calendar - http://www.spa-francorchamps.be/nl07/calendrier/meeting.php (thanks to Tom D for noticing this)

Thanks Ian, that's good info as they still have the09 calendar up on the PCF site.......so it looks like the club days at Combe on 13 March ( clash Oulton) and 15 April ( clash PCF) are non-starters for me [:(]

I usually look at OPL for dates....is there a better source for track day calendars ??.....dont like booking long time in advance but its usually required for 'popular' events , the PCGB days at Goodwood used to be like that pre-recession , however the posted price levels might act as a bit of a brake on things now...[;)]
Thinking CC on 3 June or Goodwood on 15 June at the moment.......

Jeez --- only one Northern track day at (possibly) the very best track in the UK ...

The North is clearly off the beaten track for PCGB track days.

'Still, the fewer Southerners --- the more room there is for the rest of us [&:]

And the prices []

Jonathon Palmer where are you? Hopefully he's already seriously considering his Donington options. Meanwhile I still can't see much on thePCGB list to take my fancy, I was going to consider Snetterton in 2010 but its not on the list, probably due to lack of support from people like myself. It doesn't look good from here in the North, that's for sure, even worse than last year. Any suggestions? I probably cannot justify Spa even though I'd love to go.
