Looks to be a well presented low mileage car:

Lovely looking car, and quite possibly the most expensive S2 I have ever seen for sale!

Yes, great colour. I find such low-mileage examples a bit of a shame in a way; someone will pay a lot because it is low-mileage, and hence will never be able to drive it much for fear of losing the value. But then, given that little-used cars never drive as well as well-used ones, perhaps that's to be expected.

Until mine goes on the market for a few £k more ....[;)]

Good - some strong prices for S2's are a good thing for anyone how owns one. Be it a pampered garage-queen or a high-mileage well-used thing like mine.

Keep us posted with the sale.

Will be interesting to see if it sells, for the price the interior seems to let the exterior down :( Bottom line is that it is still less than a decent second hand car.

Still cheaper than this one.

Its a Turbo though....

Sold for 30.000 USD or 25.000 euros.

I didn't think 944's where going North just yet of price. But is this much like the 911 world of lots of high prices being asked..

I am starting to strip the Ex Dez 944 for paint. I fancy getting some thing else and an S2 would be great if not a 928

I am abit of a fan of the Burgandy colour

But is it really worth that sort of money? Having said that if there are not many low miles cars about and the cost of an engine rebuild of say a 100,000 mile car ??

Why would you rebuild a 944 engine at such low mileage ????? [;)]

Very nice looking car. The interior may look much better than that 6th picture conveys, the nap on the linen velour sometimes looks dirty when viewed from the wrong direction.

Well I've just stopped looking at Pistonheads for another 944, what a total waste of time which is now in the realms of fantasy:

I'd love to see any of these cars reach the value they have been posted at, dreamland [:D][:D][:D]

Local mags for me from now on.

What do you think people who owned Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts think when they look now, a friend of mine just sold his Mexico to the first viewer for £30k, I used to walk away from them at £1500.

I guess it's already that time of the month for another 'lets slag the prices off post'

You get what you pay for, buy a cheap one, there's lots of posts on here to help you with advice about fitting new sills, finding second hand front wings, repairing rear arches, swapping dashboards, re trimming seats, fitting new belts, replacing worn suspension, burning oil, using water, changing head gaskets, tracing wiring faults, DME issues, clutch changes, brake refurbs ....etc etc

[:D] personally I think it's amusing to see cars unsold at previous lower prices actually increase in advertised price! Especially since the same car(s) may have previously been on the same site for more than £10k less!

Maybe this is more up your street. Its been for sale for several years so they might be open to an offer.

They have many other fine examples including a really rare 924 ASP limited edition which has also been for sale for as long as I can remember

Why is it a fantasy?? these cars were £40k when new so why should they not be worth £12-15k or even higher?

Out of interest what do you expect your 1275GT to be worth when completed, when they cost a couple of grand new at best?

Have to agree with Martin, I think it's a rare car in great condition, low mileage with desirable options. Why should we be surprised people are asking strong money for them?

I still think the 944 range is sadly underestimated range, with the prices of much more mundane so called "classics" increasing it is only a matter of time before people realise just what great cars they are.
Cheers
Paul.

Hi Martin, I agree £40K new was correct, more than a 911 at the time. We've had this discussion on another thread. I'd just like to see them sell at that price, they are great cars but you'd have to be insane to pay anywhere near that for a 944, sorry. £12K for a original 944 wanting nothing then yes (possibly) but it would need to be perfect and even then you could easily drop £5K on an unexpected bill, been there, done that. Everyone has different expectations of the market. Although it's very interesting to see these being talked up by indiividuals wanting to sell (I'll take cover now)

For me and this my personal perspective, Pistonheads is now just a waste of time, the same cars appear on page 1 time and time again. I didn't want to comment on the thread on pistonheads about the same thing but I find myself doing that :(

Cars have been around for months and months as stated above, it won't be long and the market will drop. I don't buy the, well they don't make them anymore argument.

Just to answer your question the GT is purely a hobby, have no interest in selling it and yes I've spent more on it than the turbos being advertised but it's a personal project, just for fun and because I can.
