Nitrogen Fill

I think you'll find that's 22%! It's more to do with water vapour content. Dry air would do the job - if you can find it. On a run my pressures increase by around 6psi with air from the filling station. 1-2 psi with N2. (But I don't pay for it![;)])

Can I suggest some testing - try nitrogen in the from tyres and air in the rear and measure the noise levels in the cabin front / rear - try nitrogen v's air all round, and timed laps to see the difference - try nitrogen v's air over the life of the tyres and see if there is a difference - try nitrogen v's air over 10 tanks of fuel and see the difference I would be surprised if the Gas cost was recovered in any test. If not, its a waste? George 944t

At my OPC yesterday and picked up the following pamphlet:-

So it's official Nitrogen is better! [:)] Regards, Clive.

Lol it's official Nitrogen is another way for them to bring you to an OPC and tell you your tyres need to be replaced, your engine is leaking oil, your car is getting old and needs to be replaced etc etc [8D]

Clive we could always nip along to our Local Fire station and fill up with Grade D air that they use for self contained breathing apparatus.?? as it has almost no moisture either. Just a thought [:D]

So make a friend of a fireman then! [;)] Actually I believe F1 use dry air as opposed to N2, so that would be good. You can buy dry air cylinders but I've no idea if this would be cheaper than nitrogen. I'm lucky 'cos I get a free fill at my OPC. [:)] Regards, Clive.

Nascar use Nitrogen because there stupid yanks that race round in circles and talk a lot of goldielocks. I guess when you race under those rules anything can help.
