Noisy Lifter - Advice

Hi Guys

I have an annoying noisy lifter that starts getting noisy after my oil heats up, it's quiet at start up and for about 10 minutes. I plan to replace it at some point but just having done the engine I'm reluctant to pull it apart again so soon. Would this stuff be worth a bash?

Any experience or pros and cons of trying this stuff please!

What oil grade are you running now? Are you running the same as before the rebuild? Is it any noisier than before the rebuild?
 
I am running a 15/40 semi which is the same as before and yes the noise is the same as before. I am due an oil change soon and was going to use Millers CFS 10w/50 from now on. Also it should be a little thicker and may stop the issue?

Scam, i used a top end valve flush oil when the lifters became noisy after one of my cars had stood idle in the bodyshop, around £7 from a local motor factors, i think it was the Wynns stuff ? sorted it in 5 mins and has been fine ever since.
 
Have you tried turning the cd player up. I find that is the easiest way to fix noises .[:D][:D][:D]

Well I gave it a bash and after 20 odd miles the noise has reduced significantly. Here's hoping it goes away altogether.

For reference, I did the same as James did and used the Wynns oil flush when I had a noisy lifter. It cured the problem very quickly.

Cheers Oli. I have used the specific hydraulic valve lifter product and so far so good. Will get some more miles done tonight and report back. I have had this noisy lifter for ages both pre and post engine re-build. Thought we had changed it when the engine was apart but clearly changed the wrong one!!
