Not sure about the wheel colour.....

Last summer we had a Speed Yellow 997 GTS as a courtesy car while our car was in for service. My wife loved the black wheels and persuaded me to have my summer wheels done whilst the winter wheels were fitted in November.

Well I have tempted providence and put on the newly painted black 'summer' wheels, but I am not sure it looks right.

I just wondered what you guys thought.

Standard silver:

Bad boy black!

+1 for black, contrasts with all the other black trim on the car

Doesnt the yellow look different in the two photos, looks much better in second photo, IMHO

Yes, +1 for black. I had my grey ones painted black which is a great excuse to put another photo on here! (for comparison purposes only, you understand!)[:D]

Wow Peter, I think it looks pretty good with the black wheel, especially as you have retained the silver rim.

Certainly makes a remarkable difference - mine are still Silver and will probably stay that way (at least until they are due a re-furb!)

Black seem the overall consensus here, so I'll keep quiet [:)]

Both look brilliant set against the yellow

I think it looks good, they complement the other black trim and I think they set off the yellow calipers more than the silver finish. So your wife is now pleased, your post is titled 'Not sure...' I hope you like it as much as the rest of us do.

I'm biased but black wheels look cool with the silver rim & works particularly well with yellow, white and red paintwork. As has been said, it contrasts well with your yellow PCCB calipers too[:)]

Thumbs up to anyone who opts for a yellow Porsche. It looks even cooler with black rims[:)]

I'm usually sceptical where a wheel colour other than 'alloy silver' is concerned, but this is one of the few exceptions - Perfect match (specially with the PCCB yellow calipers :) )

I hate to be controversial;we've just had a similar discussion on the 944 forum. Mrs Nutter, as she is now affectionately known over there, has this comment. 'If you want to impress the lads go black, if you want to pull the women stick with silver.' For what it's worth I'll agree that the black may look menaciing and butch but the drawback is for me it tends to make the car look like a prancing cart horse and not a thoroughbred race horse. In my wife's words it takes away the cars elegance.
Speed yellow centres wouldl look good. I have seen this on a speed yellow 968 cs and it looks good.

Well, we can't all be the same[:)]

But Porshe chose to make the classy Sport Classic wheel only in black[;)] Looks good on this 997 Carrera GTS B59
