Not sure about the wheel colour.....

Black is best, my centre locks on my turbo s were painted fully black as I wasn't keen on the silver I painted rim line you get from the factory spec black wheels.

The consensus is for black and my wife grinned like a proverbial Cheshire cat when I told her all you replies. 'I told you so last year@ was her reply!

As for the yellow callipers - I had no choice in their colour as the car is fitted with PCCB.

Just hope that the Porsche Warranty is not affected by my change in wheel colour - otherwise I will refit the winter wheels and tyres in June when its due for renewal.

No, it's only affected if you fill them with the wrong type of air, Peter...........
 
The problem with Porsche black wheels is they only paint the outside! The inside (where the dirt collects) is usually unpainted.

I am loving the grey spyder wheels on my new Cayenne. Wayyyy better looking than I thought they would be and in reality look darker than they do in photographs:

On my 911 I have polished silver face with grey interior - this to me is the best combo:

Woa, those Cayenne wheels look a nightmare to clean! My were completley repainted - inside and out - proper job, as we says in these parts![;)]

But Porshe chose to make the classy Sport Classic wheel only in black[;)] Looks good on this 997 Carrera GTS B59

The Fuchs wheel is a classic wheel and is of course not entirely black it has a very wide band of silver to break up the heaviness of the black. It is only my opinion, and entirely subjective of course, and bear in mind we are talking about a road car, but I remain unconvinced. With the sliver wheel Peter's 997 looks like a rapier, suggesting precision and finesse. The black wheel it maes it look like a broad sword.
 
The black looks really good Peter, it also highlights the brake calipers.
We've recently done similar to this white 911, painted the brake calipers, and painted the silver porsche 911 badge black to match, think it gave it a really nice aesthetic, what do you think?

Alex I've always wondered why Porsche don't paint the inner rim black. I read somewhere the black gloss paint is not good for creating a good seal between the rim and tyre but I don't know if that was fact. Then I noticed that silver wheels (don't know if it is all silver wheels) are painted the same grey on the inner rim, so between the black and silver, I guess there's no difference in that regard. Though I do personally like the contrast of the inner rim colour to the front face, can anyone explain why they do what they do? I'd love to understand it!

Peter I also have black wheels with a silver band around the edge. What I've been considering (and might be an idea for you) is to keep the wheels black and have a yellow band painted around the edge to match our PCCB calipers. I've seen someone photoshop it onto their wheels and it looks great!

It's due to manufacturing methods that produce batches of wheels all finished in a similar way. Individual wheels sets are then refinished to the required colour. Since the outer (visible) section is finished and coated to a high specification, it is expensive, consequently processing the entire wheel would significantly (and needlessly) increase the end price.
