Our next Novice induction Day will be planned for 31 May 2013. It is too early to post any details, but this will give you a heads up for your calendar. For those with 997's, have a look at the 997 register, they are intending to attend a TIPEC open pit track day at Blyton Park on 20th April. Cost £120. Limited to 50 cars. Richard and I will be there having some fun as usual.
If anyone is member of a register and wants to let them know about our Blyton in May, for their diary dates; please do so.

Following a meeting at Blyton Park today with the circuit owner, Richard and I have secured another 2 events for Region 4 to arrange. Costs, as with everything, have risen slightly and this has to be reflected in our Entry fee for 2013. The first event will be Friday 31st May; The Novice Driver Circuit Induction supported by AW repair group. Cost will be to PCGB Members: £95 for full day £60 for half day. For Non PCGB drivers, costs will be £115 for full day and £70 for the half day. All instruction for the full day is included in the price and exclusive limited cars on track will never exceed 5-6 cars. This Year we will also be running an open pit taster session for those who have graduated to a required standard, again this will be limited numbers on track; reducing dramatically the risk of collision. Blyton Park has invested in a number of alterations, the original building is now a club house and rest area with it's own catering facility. A new building has been installed for circuit office and a fabulous new and much larger briefing facillity. An e-mail will be sent out to all R4 members, members from other regions can contact me via the forum; I will post out entry forms upon receipt. Entry list will be limited to 30 places to prevent overcrowding and permit plenty of track sessions for those attending. We have also securred the experience of 1 or 2 Lady instructors for the first event, 1 of them an experienced club racer, the other is a very well experienced le-Mans driver in Historic/classic series. Hopefully this may encourage some of the ladies to reach for the helmet and keys! Regards Gavin R4 ARO & Instructor.

Entry for the Blyton event is going well. I have already sent out 8 entry forms and even had entry returned and paid. We only have a maximum of 30 entries permitted so don't be late in applying for an entry and returning ASAP, cheques can wait a while. This event has already been submitted to Porsche Post so don't delay as we will have to honour any requests for an entry form. Catering is now in the club house ( the old office and briefing room) and is an on site facility with kitchen, open all day. The new Briefing facility/offices are huge and very impressive. Gavin

We now have just a few entries available for Blyton Park 31 May. If you are thinking about it, please contact me ASAP as I am contacting other regions. We have classes for complete Novices, Ladies, veteran Cars (not drivers) and graduates (experienced). Our team of Instructors Include Circuit racers, Rally Instructors, ARDS Instructors, Le-Mans classic racer-female. All instruction is free and mandatory for all but the graduates. We will help you drive as fast and as comfortable as you like to go. We will familiarise you with circuit driving techniques which can be an aid on the road. We will also help you to gain confidence and experience in your pride and joy, in a safe and sensible manner. New Porsche members and owners, this would be very advantageous for you to learn about your cars, cheaply and more importantly, safely. Gavin.

Hi Gavin, Could you send me an application form please, assuming there are any places left :) Thank you Chris

We had a great time at Blyton, it was good to meet you guys. If you have considered a track day but are unsure, Blyton is the perfect venue to explore the limits of your Porsche[:)] you will have a great time and your car will be better for a good workout.

Hi, Do you still have any places left for this event? It has ben strongly recommended by a fellow member from Yorkshire Region, Regards Simon

Hi Gavin Reading the thread it seems there will be a second day that is not exclusively a novice day? Has a date been established for this, please? Ian

Ian, this is only a one day event. The Novice Induction Day is aimed at those who are unfamiliar with their cars or track driving. We do have a class for experienced drivers within the day. E-mail me for further details as i don't want to cause any confusion on the forum. Gavin r4@porscheclubgb.com

Simon P e-mail me so i can send you an entry form. We have 3 places remaining to our max numbers. Gavin r4@porscheclubgb.com

Are we likely to have a repeat of the classics, sorry, Old Timers, chasing each other again?

In answer to Brod, Most certainly we will have a veterans class, with some older cars too. Cliff, Brod, Grahame and a 911E will be entertaining the not insignificant but appreciative audience with a display of immense body roll, tail drifting and old fashioned driving skills. No PDK, ABS, Traction control in sight!

Last call for the AW Repair Group (Sleaford) Blyton Park Novice Induction Day 31st May. We have almost a full entry for this event, just 2-3 places available due to last minute cancellations.
