Novice trackday questions

I agree, another day would be an excellent idea. I guess it needs to be a central circuit, but the cheapest circuit is probably Snetterton. It's quite a journey for some, but it's a great circuit.

I`m up for it [8D]

Goldtrack usually have half a dozen open pit evenings at Silverstone between July and September that are very reasonably priced and always attract half a dozen of us, but that's later in the year.

I have a hankering to try Rockingham at Corby as I have never done it and wonder what the banked section will be like. Bookatrack have an Open Pitlane Sunday on 20th May for £199 if anyone is interested?

Rockingham sounds cool. Never been there, I think I`ll go for that one.

Last Silverstone evening was memorable for me as I decided to go so as to rag my `new` car to see what broke. The brakes fried and the engine overheated......brilliant fun. I love Silverstone and would certainly be up for one evening.

I would like to do Silverstone if its the full GP circuit. I guess I would have to join PCGB to do the PCGB track day?
Donny is on my track wishlist as is Cadwell and Spa. Croft and Snetterton seem a long drive from Northampton, how early in the morning would one need to get up to get there?
Have any of you guys done the newer airfield days? There are about 3 down here in the area near to Castle Combe.

Hi Neil,

Croft is about 3 hours from NN and Snetterton is 2 hours - both worth the trip. Goldtrack have some Silverstone GP days as does PCGB. I hope to do the PCGB one this year as I've missed it since 2002 (used to do it every year). You don't need to be a member to do this day - it will just cost more (cheaper to join I think).

I'm trying to keep to weekend days only (where possible) but will make an exception for the PCGB day.

Regards,
Andrew

I've now provisionally booked my place at Rockingham on Sunday 20th May with Bookatrack.

I've looked at the Goldtrack dates and they have a Snetterton day on Wednesday 27th June for £169

Then I'll just wait for Goldtrack to hopefully release some summer evenings at Silverstone like they normally do and that's me set until the Autumn [:)]
