Sounds great Steve even though it was wet[]. I'm off for my first trip there the middle of next month[:)].

Regarding the smoke - I had similar on a recent track day. I'd done nearly 2,000 miles in the car and the oil was only just below the the top mark of the dipstick so thought it would be best to top it up for the first time in preparation for the track day. I hadn't banked on the car getting so hot on a real work out and the oil thinning out more than normal. It had me really worried when it started smoking (oil burning on the exhaust). But once it had sweated out what it didn't need, it was fine.

For me, the moral of this was next time to check the oil after each session and to top up while I'm there if necessary.

You will have a great time, I treated it as a Sunday morning drive on a wide country road with no traffic coming the other way, that way I wasn't trying to break records or worse still the car.

I had my mate in the car with me for two things, keep an eye out for other cars and share the fun.
