I just hope i get a decent payout and its not too much of a fight to get it. Some hope, i know!!
I have a bit of cash stashed away so depending on how much they pay me, im im two minds whether to buy it back to fix it up, or pool the cash to buy a better example now that they have come down in price so much. I have my eye on a few but they will most probably be gone by the time i get the cash.[&o]

ouch bad luck. It can happen to any of us any time. I wrote my Lux off at 20mph losing it on a greasy roundabout so I know just how you feel right now.
Concentrate on gathering together all your previous receipts and photos ,tax disks MOT's etc and build it into a nice presentation folder for the insurance assessor.
Get some typical sale prices of comparable cars of the net and add those to help him with the valuation. He may ignore them but you can use them as evidence to challenge their first payout offer
Try to get the car seen by the insurance assessor at your address. If you let a local nominated garage pick it up you will run the risk of having to pay for pickup, storage, attendance and disposal costs and courtesy car etc which will eat into your payout.
ask me how I know this
Can they charge me for these costs even though im fully comp?????

Except for Fen, 'cos he'll be wondering what all the fuss is about.....[8|][]
I remember what it was like [
Monday was a holiday here and I had great plans to change the discs and pads and all the transmission fluids on the Cherokee. I did the brakes part of it then had to go in for a beer and a cool down and then went out quite a bit later to tidy the tools away [&:]. It was 27 degrees I think, though we did have 34 a couple of weeks ago and that was a wee bit too much.
Remember though that in July and August when we're having between 5 and 10 degrees and rain you'll be enjoying slightly warmer rain in your summer [

Hi Stu,
Sorry to see the pictures, there's certainly little chance it'll be repaired with current values so low. With the damage, and the cills needing doing as well, it's a big commitment to restore it!
If you have problemss with the insurers let me know. I don't know if you have an agreed value policy but if the offer is ridiculous then I can suggest a more realistic value for Club members.
Everyone - don't forget that getting a FREE valuation from the Club is a good starting point for insurance claims if you're unfortunate enough to need it! Did I say it's FREE? [8|]
I'm feeling rather depressed now and not looking forward to the up coming battle with the insurance company over its value[
