Oh dear

Go to the back of the class and hand out the 'Kayleighs' (which he wrote the riff for demonstrating songwriting to his wife)

Not one of my favourites but has probably made them more money than all of the rest put together.

As an aside (not that this thread has been "on thread" for most of the time [;)]) on "Reel to Reel" Steve Rothery is noted as using a Squire Strat (gasp!). He is obviously a man who appreciates value for money, hence his choice of Porsche. [8|]

OK OK I'm in the bad books now.

I just hope Steve will forgive me if I take some more pictures of him on the track [:D][:D]

I'm sure that if I heard the the songs I'd recognise them and say Arrrggghhh !! (a cunning way to get Steve to let me have tickets to the next gig to 'convert' me) [:D][:D]

Nice bloke. Nice car. Probably a nice band [:)][:)][:)]

When can I come back in from the wilderness I've been banished to ??

Anyway, back on topic, shall we make a group buy of said 'vehicle' to sacrifice on bonfire night ? I recon £10 would be a fair price, including delivery.

Is £10 what you would pay for that in London, reckon about £3.35 ' up North ' [8D] just to think thats his pride and joy - oh well it takes all sorts.

Fair play !! The £10 would also cover the paraffin it used on the trip to the appointed sacrificial ground !!

I think you are all being very unfair on the poor chap.

I really can't see too many issues with putting a nice 70" wing on the back of a 944, assuming it's done nicely of course. [8|]

James, you must live in an alternate reality where most 944s are well looked after, retaining their value and in excellent condition. In my more grounded reality theyre nearly all 'sheds', few are well looked after and theyre worth a tiny fraction of their original cost: and things are only going to get worse.

He's right, that one does look and sound like a shed.

Most of the 944's owned by people I know are very well looked after and are maintained well in excess of their actual value. You certainly don't buy these cars as an investment - it's more of a passion (and don't look at the reciepts [:)] )

Is that Adrian Flux?

Not sure what hes on about - I didn't watch it all (boss is around), but how much was that car for sale for / bought for?
Doesn't seem in bad shape if the asking/purchase price is right.

Its a poor £6k car alright - but might be a good buy at £2.5k?

That turns out to be great news!

You will have had a sizeable boost leak there, so once its fixed say hello to plenty more power [8D]

I have to say I had not noticed a boost issue until now. The hole is fixed with some expoy metal. I fitted a new dme sensor which has resulted in the car running much smoother, less of a rich mixture smell & a quieter exhaust but I am now suffering with what appears to be a boost issue under load, as soon as I get near to 15 psi its as if the car starts stuttering and shaking.

Whats going on ?

I was just reading about that. No i'm promaxed level 2, manual mbc cycling valve not in use etc. From what I have been reading it does sound like over boost, I have only driven it two times since getting it back and on the first journey I thought I noticed some small stuttering but now and since changing the dme and fixing the hole (is this just coincidence?) its much worse.

This is an observation hoping to prompt a thought from someone else rather than a firm idea... But since the car has been on its side, fluids (water, fuel and oil) have had an opportunity to work their way to places you'd not expect them. Is there any chance a fluid has got into a part of the system that it is not expected to be in? Oil in an air filter for example?

Soooo frustrating when a fundamentally fine car is not running just right.
Best of luck,
Mick

Air filter is as clean as a whistle. I lay awake thinking about this last night and I remember over the past year I must have tweaked the mbc up at least three times. Now i'm no turbo expert but that hole has been growing for some time as the surface is rubbed smooth (although it does not look like it in the picture) so I'm wondering whether my tweaking has been accounting for the leak and now the hole is repaired im making too much boost.

Does that sound plausible?
