Simon, I haven't used or seen the KLA versions. I do have their X brace (which I've not put back on since the cage) and it is a good product at a good price. Sort of budget end of the spectrum but appears well made and as good as most others on the market. So I'd imagine that their camber plates might also fall into that spectrum. The main thing for me was finally discovering that we had run out of travel after chasing handling issues for some time (Mostly push understeer on slow hairpins). We then also found that the plate that the top bolts to had pushed up and out of shape. I've got a few pics somewhere. So we changed to the RE ones and never looked back...well on the front anyway! I'd go with Eldavo's setup personally. As time progressed and my car became more and more track focused (KW race suspension, RE top mounts, RE metal bearings/bushings, 18" low profile R spec rubber) I still can't say that the ride was ever overly harsh. As I've mentioned previously, my friend with his revalved Koni setup with springrate about half what I was running was MUCH harsher than my car. Of course it totally depends on what you want from your car. If it's virtually a 100% roadcar then the V3's might be the best option.

Because I was going to get him to do mine but elected for Promax in the end, only because they are closer to me. At least you'll know you'll get a proper job done, corner weighted and spot on for how you want it, I'd like to take mine to Chris at some point to get it fine tuned. Andy at Promax has worked on my car in the recent past and done a good job. In fact, I'm seeing him later this month to have something else sorted out. He's closer to me than Chris's and I'm sure would do a good job with the suspension. But everything I've heard about Chris's work sugessts it's the place to go for suspension related work. I could go to Promax or RPM and get a good job done, then go to CG for the suspension tune up but I figured he may as well carry out the entire project. He offered to take pictures throughout the project and agreed after the test drive, if the end result isn't what I want he'll change/fine tune until I'm happy. Personally, I can't really argue against that.

Despite me wanting to change top mounts and spending time with Chris researching options, Chris said not to bother as the existing ones are fine. (After a little fiddling by Chris of course.) I've also had the callipers completly rebuilt at the same time and fitted new discs and pads. (Which Chris has already worn in for me.) The callipers are now Mondena Yellow. Not to everyone taste perhaps but I didn't want black callipers again. Most of the bushes have been changed for new. The car has been corner weighted, ride hide set to m030 minus 10mm. The fine tuning takes place tomorrow and I collect the car on Sunday afternoon. It really can't come quickly enough!

I will decide when I see the car in person if it should be lowered any further. (I have some pictures but it's really hard to tell as the car is on the ramp.) The car is used every weekend and as I live in London, I can't have it too low. I'm also thinking of changing to 18" wheels at some stage in the future so the gap between the wheel and the wheel arch will reduce further (and improve the look IMO) without needing to go any lower. Out of interest, for those that have had their car lowered and use it regularly on the public roads, how did you set your car up?

Mine is pretty low but not excessively so, I asked promax to put the top of the wheel just below the arches and they did a pretty good job of setting it up for me as it is. I also live in London and although you do need to take speed bumps a little slower its nowhere near as bad as I had expected. There is also still plenty of travel under the arches for the wheels before they bottom out. Another benefit I have found from lowering the car is much better stability as higher speeds, before on the autobahn at 120mph the front would lift and feel a bit vague and wandering. Now the faster you go the more planted the car feels, its night and day. These are the differences the kw's makes, beyond the obvious cornering ability, they provide a stable platform for high speed track driving.[

Although personnaly I would not go with 18' wheels as consensus is you sacrifice feel, ride and drivability for looks which only a few will appreciate.

You can still see the top of the tyre at the front. I will post a pic of my race car sometime soon. The EMC setup has evolved other time, mine is setup the same now as Graham Knights car was but given I am on the bigger Michelin tyres it is seriously tight in those front arches. I would have found it hard to believe actually but getting the car much lower than before (last year) has made a very noticeable change on track, much more fluid and smooth/progressive in its reactions. Unfortunately though too low really for road driving now. Edd I think your car looks just about spot on for dual use.

Now that is proper low. Looks a bit to low at the back though to me in comparison to the front. I am amazed he didn't tear up those side skirts though on bumps/humps etc.

No lower than mine, its the camera angle and the 968 type skirts and splitter and 17 inch wheels. I had my car set up the same after experiencing driving Fens car, as well as a/c delete he also had power steering delete which was amazing for wheel feedback when moving (but unbelievably heavy/impossibly heavy when parked) Mine on 17 cup 1's (same as Fens car)
