Oil issue?

Low pressure, or low level?

Level warning switches fairly often give odd readings. Mine makes my warning light come on when the level uis only about 1/3 of the way between max and min. I think they work on a ball-and-float system, and the float doesn't float as well as it used to.

If the oil pressure gauge is appearing to read correctly, but the low pressure warning light is on, then Id suspect that the sender for the lamp was faulty. The low level warning wouldnt concern me unduely as theyre notoriously unreliable and its easily checked using the dipstick. Parking on my drive used to set mine off even on a nearly new car.....
