Oil usage

Porsche do not recommend 0w-40 in these engines, they do however suggest 5w-40 synthetic for year round use in my 1988 manual.

But I think we have been there before[:)].

I now have that manual: Porsche corrected themselves in subsequent manuals, I believe (reverting to 10W-).
 
All my 944's have used oil, I think it uses it mostly when sitting in traffic, long journeys without any stand stills and it doesn't seem to use a drop.

Currently running Mobil 1 Motorsport 15W/50.

Thanks for all the useful info on the differant oils. I drained the oil a couple of weeks ago and refilled it with synta semi synthetic 10-40. Ive covered roughly 200 miles and i has not used a drop since. Thanks again people.
