... buy their car a present for Xmas?
Apart from the obligatory screen wash and deicer I bought my 996 a Stormforce car cover. Ordered from Parr and delivered next day fantastic service and the cover is just the ticket!

I bought mine a stablemate: [:)]

that is a lovely car and impossible to follow but i have bought mine a full hight scissor lift and built it a garage for tinkering on those winter nights when the snows to bad to drive it
i havent mastered the picture posting yet sorry
i must try harder

Richard... you should know that a Porsche is not just for Christmas...

Looks good... I'm not so knowledgable on the air cooled models, but presumably that's another turbo judging by the size of the rear wing? If I'm right can we call you Richard "3 Turbos" Hamilton now?

Martin.

No, it's not a Turbo, or even a 'Turbo-Look' Supersport. It's a 1989 3.2 Carrera. It ia a Sport model, which is narrow-bodied, but with the whale tail and front bumper lip. The 3.2 range is just as confusing as the 996 range!

Nothing as yet for my e-bay track car-but did give Irene a new JVC CD/MP3/Radio for the other 924S to replace the factory fit non CD model.

if i evict my van from the other side of the garage i would do exactly the same as you have, prior to the 996 c4 i had a 89 supersport, i still miss it, and the sound is so unique, i am depressed !!

Richard, that is absolutely lovely - my favourite Porsche in my favourite colour combination. My neighbour has its twin but his is black on black. He has owned his for years so if you have any quirks, I can give you his number.

I hope you get a lot of pleasure from it.

Richard that is so nice, just what i would want as a second Porsche, or even as a first for that matter. Very nice.

In regards to Christmas present for my car a set of Zun rad protectors, yet to be fitted.

Phil

Rich,

She is a beaut mate!

Have always loved the SuperSport too...........

Looks just bang on mate!! Nice stuff :)

Hi Richard,

Looks a lovely motor, will you be taking it to Autofarm later in the month for all to see?
Always said that when i eventually buy my Porsche i wouldn't care how old it was but am truly happy with my 996 C4s....

BUT.... there is something special with that whale tail :)
Congrats, would be nice to hear how the performance 7 handling differ to your 996 Turbo

HNY,

Regards

paul

As long as it isn't snowing I plan on taking the 3.2 to Autofarm. It is completely different to the Turbo. The best way of describing the Turbo is "point & shoot", it all happens so quickly, whereas the 3.2 is far more involving (in a good way). None of the driver aids like PAS or ABS, but in a strange way it is the better for it. But the very best thing is the sound.

Here's the interior:

wow!

that looks very clean, what mileage has the car done?
hoping to get to Autofarm, shift patterns permitting......

Hi richard and congrats on the car. Can I ask some more details re the car ie mileage and what r your thoughts? Ive agreed to buy a 1989 3.2 cab with just 41k miles in guards with new hood from a guy currenly in antigua Although I'm struggling to find out when he's actually going to be back so i can arrange collection. Was hoping to get car pre Xmas but still waiting tks David

It has done 73000 miles, but still feels fresh as a daisy. It was exactly the colour combo I was looking for, plus it has a few nice options that were on my wish list, like limited slip diff and aircon. I probably paid slightly over the top for it, and have spent quite a bit tidying things up and making everything work, but hopefully it is a keeper, so I'm not worried.

I love it. It is a real pleasure to drive, in a totally different way to the Turbo. It makes me think and concentrate more, and not take it for granted. I am still learning, but that's half the fun. The randomness of the controls is charming, too.

41000 is very low, just nicely run in! Hope it all goes well with the purchase.

Sorry I completely hijacked your thread Paul. I'd be interested to know more about the car cover though, as I am looking for a good indoor cover.
