Ok, did anyone else...

I know exactly what u mean by 'the randomness of the controls' as I had a 997 that I replaced with a 993 so very similar layout and very unlike a more modern car. So i've agreed £15k for this car that had just been serviced by opc Bournemouth and had a new hood fitted. I don't know how that compares to what u paid but I was also thinking I may have paid small over the odds. In any case at least if I don't like it I have a very low mileage car to sell even if cabriolet isn't everyones cup of tea. Also sorry to have hijacked this thread

The 993 is positively organised compared to the 3.2!!

£15k sounds like a decent price for a low mileage cabriolet to me. Nick Whale has a GR 59000 miler on sale for £18900, if that's anything to go by. When you are very specific about condition, colour and spec, you find there is very little choice. 3.2 coupes range in price from £10k for a 100,000+ miler needing a bit of work, to £25k+ for a low mileage concours car. The ones in the middle are very difficult to price, and sellers often have unrealistic expectations. Mine was advertised privately for £19500, but I got it for £16500. What the heck - it's only money!

That is very Richard enjoy......now to Email this guy and find out whats going on with the 3.2.........I had a 3.3 turbo targa yrs ago. I wish I still had that!!!

Well Richard...back to the car cover - haha, the new car of yours is far more interesting though...

Went for the Stormforce cover and ordered from from Parr [Porsche Specialist, just Google them] as seemed the most durable for all weathers and the price was pretty competitive although they do charge a tenner for delivery but it arrived prompt the next working day so no complaints there.

It comes in a pretty big bag (small suitcase-ish) that once you've taken it out you'd need lessons from David Blane to get it back in so that will now double up for my car cleaning paraphernalia. When fitting it for the first time I had no-one to assist and it's advisable for two people to fit it, either that or be more careful than I was...there are plastic clips on the underside of the cover if you need to make the cover more secure - they attach to each other via a supplied straps that runs left to right under the car behind the front wheels and in front of the rear wheels (the cover elasticated anyway so unless you live in a hurricane area there's probably not much use for it). BUT, when fitting it and because of the size and awkwardness of the cover (for one person to fit) the clips dragged across the car and have left a few surface scratches. I'm a bit gutted and they'll likely buff/t-cut out but after learning from my mistakes I've now cut the clips off!

All in all though a good piece of protective kit if the cars going to be parked up for a while - it's a light grey colour and doesn't have an emblem on.
