I recently replied to an advert at a opc wanting to purchase more stock of used porcsche, I emailed photos and certificate of authenticity, I promptly received a valuation for the car which shocked me, 25% less than I payed less than a year ago I have only done 1500 miles in the car and looked after the car having a meticulous specialist detail so the car is in way better condition than when I bought the car from the opc, needless to say I will be keeping the car I understand they have to make good money on cars to run the dealerships to the high standards, but if they told you at time of purchase about selling it back to them it would make you think twice!

If finances are your concern go buy a Dacia. No-one ever said owning a quality sports car was cheap.
There's always the trade-off too; buy new = depreciation and a couple of years low running costs, buy used; generally, the other way around.

No surprise really re the offer.
If you buy from a PC your buying at the top end of the market for that model. However, It should have a plus side, it will have an approved Porsche warranty.
If advertising private sale and you dont feel comfortable. Only put your add on websites such as this.
Lots on the web re buying and selling tips.
I have taken people to the bank and had an opening balance on my account printed. Then the buyer hands over the cash. The Bank cashier counts the notes verifies the amount and gives me a closing balance. Only then does the buyer get a bill of sale and the keys. I guess you could do the same with automated payments leaving a few days between the pay in and verified receipt.

I don't know where you're located but there are plenty of reputable Porsche Specialist Dealers who'll purchase your car: 911virgin, Paragon, RSJ Sports Cars, Dove House Motor Company, etc. I'm sure that they would improve on your PC's offer.
Selling an expensive car privately will always be a challenge; but setting aside the tricky test drive, online bank transfers should at least provide a fast and secure method of handling the financial transaction.

When I was potentially trading my car in the opc was quite open they would be advertising it for £10k more than they were offering me....and then I presume they would also be making a similar profit on the other one ..... not that I am bitter! ?? I didn't do the deal in the end.
