Opinions Sought Paying Deposit Monday

ORIGINAL: chrisH Rob, My comments were not directed at you, without knowing anything about your background I was actually trying to be constructive, so please don't take it personally. Hope it all works out for you. Chris
Thanks

Good decision I think Rob, a nicely-specc'd car despite the fact that you're going to have to replace the tyres fairly soon. And those Sport Design alloys are hard work to keep them looking good.! Viewing their website, I see that Lodge have a number of other Porsches for sale and therefore have experience of the marque, which is always a bonus. Hopefully, the potentially high cost of Porsche parts and repairs is reflected in their warranty, just in case something does go wrong in the first 3 months. In Chris' defence, one of the advantages/disadvantages of the forum is its anonymity. I expect that all of the Club Members posting here are Porsche owners but Guests are a mixed bunch, some of whom are Porsche owners but many, yourself included, are interested parties whose knowledge of the marque is unknown to the rest of us. Those of us here who own Porsches are enthusiasts, are aware of the positives and negatives of Porsche ownership and want to provide people like yourself with as much useful information as possible, based upon our combined experience. Hope the purchase goes smoothly and that you enjoy Cayman ownership. And please do consider joining the Club too. Jeff

Good luck Rob with what ever choice of Cayman you go for they are awsome. Best road holder in the Porsche range in my opinion trust me on that! The best advice and only advice for any purchase on any Porsche is get it checked out either by OPC or any decent indy. A couple of hundred quid can save a lot of heartache and money. Best of luck.

Rob The Cayman is a cracking car - no doubt you will enjoy it. I have had my 2.7 for 4 years and 60k miles. I would consider buying from a porsche dealer - as you get a 2 year porsche warranty - noted by many to be the best in the business. I have had several claims on the warranty - worth it's weight in gold. The other option is to buy elsewhere and then pay for a inspection/warranty which is £1000 +. Worth thinking about

UPDATE [;)] I have a beautiful Cayman sitting in my driveway picked it up on Friday and im in and out of it like a yo-yo its awsome. Ended up with the one from Lodge motors and I was not dissapointed it just about mint, odd stone chip but it not a new car. Lovley to drive and does grip the road very well and it can be used as an everyday car more luggage space than my Corsa. There are a lot of people walk past my house its funny to see everyone looking at it as the go past no gripes with it at all. One thing that suprised me was the spec of the exhaust it a sports system and sounds awsome Wont beat my bike though [;)] Thanks to everyone for there input it was worth its weight in gold.

Well done Rob.! Enjoy the drive - it's a great car. Why not get along to one of the local Club meetings, if you can, to share your experiences. Jeff
