Hi,

Open the boot and just to the left of the latch unclip the carpet and you will find the sticker on the bodywork there.

Any further questions give me a shout. What cab did you buy - post the pics. That is two new cab owners in two days - amazing!!

Enjoy a great car!!

Frazer

Hi Frazer - thanks for the info. I've bought a 1990 Cab Baltic blue, Nautic blue leather with a dark blue hood. I know it has sports seats and headlight wash as options, but not sure what else. It's totally as it left the factory, but I've just fitted clear lenses, as the orange ones looked suspect. Just joined the club, so will try to make some events this year I reckon.

How long have you had yours - any problems ?

Welcome Rich.

If the sticker in the boot has faded or is too hard to read with your head upside down, there should also be one in the first few pages of the original service book

Yes, all our cars over here have it. Basically it is just two shiney mushroom bolts on either side of the rear hatch, at the top just down from the corners (a picture would explain this so much better [:D])

You loosen the bolts, slide the rear mounts for the ski rack/roof rack underneath, then do the bolts back up again. I don't know how it attaches at the front?

Thanks Paul, I'll check this as well.

Don't suppose you know anyone who can fix the PCB on the digital clock ? It works fine, apart from the allumination. The bulb is ok, so am assumin it's a fault on the board somewhere ?

No, but if you find someone let us know as it is a common failure. New clocks can be silly money from the OPC, though you sometimes find them in Breakers or on Ebay

Bear in mind that the clock you buy on e-bay is just as good as the one that you have. Just might be a matter of weeks or months, probably not years, before it suffers the same fate.

As most stereos have the time, along with my sat-nav, phone, watch, radio station, and SWMBO has made me late anyway, I can't imagine spending hard-earned on my clock. Does anyone make a blanking thingy? [&:]

Rich,

I have had the my cab since September - love it! Your's sounds good and must look quite stunning.

I also have the clear indicators and they look great - far better than the orange originals.

Any further questions you have fire them over. Steve - see previous new cab owner discussion - asked me for my experiences so far and I sent him an e-mail. (See content pasted below).

Anyway post the pics on the forum - everyone always likes to look at "each others" - and enjoy the car.

I was luck and bought an exceptionally good car but being a
perfectionist there is always a lot to do. I am getting a slight and
in-frequent "miss" when the car starts on a cold day so I think I will
just replace the distributor cap and plugs soon. Seemingly this is a
worthwhile exercise anyway.

My car is 100% waxed on the underside and in the cills - if your car
does not have this then get it done - even do it yourself. Well well
worth it!! A few areas to look out for are:

1. Petrol cap area - make sure the small drain hole is clear.
2. Bottom edge (trailing) of the wheel arches. This area tends to gather
small stones and water. Worth cleaning and waxing.
3. Watch water level - do not be worried if it sits at minimum . I
always toped this up but after recent forum discussions this is normal.
Some cars - mine included - do not like any more then this. Main thing
here is to watch the temp gauge. Should really never get above first
white mark.
4. Use Tesco 99 petrol or something similar. Tesco has the higher RON
petrol. This after a few tanks makes the car a little smoother and
returns a better overall consumption. Again many forum links support
this.
5. Get a good wax on the car. As it was September I got mine I just put
on a Autoglym Resin Polish to see it through winter. Advise seems to be
to clean it with cleaner then apply a good zymol or equivalent wax. This
is my "spring project".
6. Buy glyptone leather cleaner and cream - very cheap but the best in
the world. Wait off until warm weather to do this however as leather
needs to be warm.
7. Also worth doing is taking each wheel off and cleaning inside
thoroughly and at the same time really clean the callipers. Mine are red
with white writing and look amazing but a good early clean makes weekly
cleaning simple.
8. Depending on what your rear window is like there is a really good
product to "clear" this. The product is called hindsight and you can buy
it with instructions off their web site. (They are Edinburgh based).

So far that is really my learnings and advise. I have had the car out
only a few days in the winter but will use it more frequently in the
summer. Enjoy yours thoroughly and any things you discover fire them
over. Let me know how you get on with the roof cleaning - mine is clean
but very slightly grey in some areas.
