very nice, yet to see Miami Blue in the flesh and I've a drafted spec that's very similar - although went for the blue/grey interior. Waiting until I've done a test drive to order as in no rush to move just yet. My OPC has one of their demo cars in Miami Blue and they sent a video last week, looks great and hopefully I'll see in the flesh soon and get a test drive.

Be interested in seeing some pics when you take delivery ;)

Cheers, Colin

Hi

I took this picture of a Miami Blue 718 Cayman which was at the Silverstone Classic's at the end of July 2016

and it looks lovely in this colour and I think its the best new colour Porsche has brought out this year.

Yours Kevin.

Hi guys,

Can't tell you how excited I am about ordering my very first Porsche, a 718 Cayman in Miami Blue.

I want the car for the new registration in March so hopefully I'll get it sometime around then.

This is the spec I've gone for.

Great colour. That's a big spec list. Personally, I wouldn't order cruise control on a sports car. I'd be tempted to go for the S model ditching things like sports chrono, PASM & PDSL. Also wheel and seat upgrades come in a lot cheaper with the S and you could still get a decent spec at around that price. Having said that, it's your car and you have what you want.

I saw Miami Blue Cayman at OPC Mid Sussex on Saturday - stunning. I' ll be going for that colour I think on 718 Boxster GTS when launched - hopefully next year! Good luck with yours

That's a great spec on your Miami Blue 718 Cayman. PDK and Sport Chrono marry very well together. Correct choice.

I would also have chosen Porsche Torque Vectoring with limited slip diff. It really aids the handling feel and stability on track days. Cayman's without PTV are inclined to be snappy and tricky to balance on a corner when the tyres let go. For road use, PTV and LSD also improves traction in the wet and wintry winter months. Just an observation from my personal experience.

I inspected a Miami Blue 718 Cayman S at OPC last week and it looks absolutely stunning.

My Graphite Blue 718 Cayman S spec is now finalised. I'm awaiting a build slot for January 2017 delivery.

Great colour... but no nav. [:-]
I've specced Connect so I can use Apple Maps on CarPlay so it seems a bit pointless spending over £1000 if I can get it free. And the maps are displayed on the centre screen so it'll be just as good I'm sure.

Did think about factory nav but Apple Maps will be enough for me.

I'll be very interested in your experience with the Apple maps/Car Play navigation.

I also had the same dilemma when speccing my 718 CS. I finally decided to bite the bullet and go for the navigation module and the Connect Plus option. The main difference between the two will be signal strength via the mobile/Car Play option. I'm not sure if the voice prompts come with Car Play option.

Be interesting to hear of your experience with this option.

Brian

Interested why you have speeded the 718 to £55k when the S model with a few choice options will come in at the same price

You're right, a few options will make the S the same price but I won't be able to get all the options I want.

There are a few must-haves and this pushes the price of an S to over £55k, and unfortunately that's my upper budget.

To to be honest I'm happy I'm getting a brand new Porsche, my first and a car I've wanted for a long time.

Hi Fergusor

It seems as though we are in the same boat my friend! I've found it very interesting looking at how you have specified your new Cayman 718.

I'll look forward to seeing photos of it. This is my first post on the Porsche club forum and I'll also be new to the brand as I've also ordered a Cayman 718.

I'm also looking to have the car for the new registration in March.

The specification I went for had the theme Stealth, I'll share it in the link below. It would be interesting to hear what you all make of it?

Kind regards

Shane

Hi Dreo,

I like the look of the 718 you've specced, I particularly like the interior. I'll be interested to see pictures of the car when you get it.

I know the spec is personal preference, but just interested to know why you've specced it the way you have and not included PDK, Sport Chrono etc.

I have to admit, the main reason I chose PDK was because the 0-60 time is below 5 seconds (and lower still with Launch Control). When I originally started looking into buying a 718 I was going with a manual box but the drive a PDK and it converted me.

Have you received your invitation to Silverstone yet? I got mine, not sure when to go though.

Richard.

Hi Richard,

I've not received my invitation to Silverstone yet. Originally I specced the car with the possibility of changing it as I wasn't sure on the colour. I said to the young lady who dealt with my order to hold on until I'm 100% sure with what I want. I ended up keeping the colour but added the sports exhaust. I've only just confirmed my final order today so hopefully I'll receive the Silverstone invite soon. The options I've added are based on the look of the car. The standard speed and performance are more than enough for me as I'm not much of a racer :). I got invited to Silverstone last year to drive the Cayman GTS, Boxster GTS and 911 991 Cabriolet. Both the 911 and Boxster had the PDK options fitted and I found them amazing but when I went in the Cayman GTS I felt so much more involved. I'll certainly post an image of my car on here when I get it.

That was also the point I made.

Main reason comes down to cost. I have a budget, and the options I want make the budget work with the base model.

I know I can get an S for similar money if I cut down the options but then I'd feel I was getting an inferior car.

And to be honest, the majority of reviews I read seem to favour the base Cayman over the S, mainly down to cost, but also a few favour the 2 litre over the 2.5.

Very excited now as just had an email from PC Colchester that my new Agate Grey 718 Cayman S has arrived and 15 days early. The factory gave an original date of 11th November. So it looks like mine could be first customer owned Cayman S on the road. Will put some photo's up once sorted & collected. John
