OULTON PARK DISASTER

In reply to Jason:-
Glad to hear you are coping well. Your car can be repaired, but what ever you do don't be railroaded into an early settlement because of 'inconvenience'.
You are obviously going to suffer some whiplash damage, and if the accident was not your fault, you are entitled to compensation for your injuries and trauma.
Mac's daughter was in an accident on November 10th. when her 924 was written off, (thanks again to Porsche for saving her life), and although she has had the money for her car, she has had nothing for loss of earnings or her injuries.
The other party accepted liability, and his insurance company have since tried to trivialise her injuries as 'only whiplash'.
You may feel comfortable that you are not badly hurt, but this is a little friendly advice to not rush back to work, until you are absolutely certain you are completely recovered.
Unfortunately it is looking more and more likely that Mac's daughter will not be able to return to the job she did before, even though she has endured weeks of painful physiotherapy. Psychologically she is very fragile, and this is worsened by worries over money.
The bottom line is serious injuries, no job, no money ,no settlement, no Porsche, and the worst of it is that until she was introduced to her new Solicitor through friends in Porsche Club, nobody seemed to be working on her behalf.
Take things easy Jason.

Macandsue really sorry to hear your story and hope your daughter gets back on the straight and narrow soon....sounds a very sad tale and you have my best wishes.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) I run all my own businesses so time off work is not an option...I've already done a few hours today[&o]

Terrible Jason, just terrible- but you sound like your hanging in there. Be very, careful with the insurance - check what legal cover you've got just in case.
I'm sure it'll be back - how about silverstone in july for the re-appearance?

Sorry to see the pics, Jason, happy you are in one piece.

A 964 can be fixed, that´s for sure. From my experience with a team racing these cars you need an expert body shop, someone who really knows his business. The body has to be repaired / fixed VERY precisely. It´s better to spent more money on a perfect repair (bodywork) than having a car which is bent like a banana.

After that you can make it look like the beauty it was before. I like the black and orange style very much.

Take care, Mate

Bl00dy hell Jason -car can be fixed -hope u r OK.

Find a good chripractor to check u out.

If it's any consolation, I had very minor bump from behind some 20+ years ago and the shock didn't kick in until the next day with uncontrollable shaking and weeping -not nice!

Jason,
Really sorry to hear your news. I'd wondered why I hadn't seen an orange scripted RS at Oulton until Des told me what had happened. By coincidence I passed your poor car on the back of the truck on my way home on the M6 - looked fine from the passenger side - wondered what the damage could have been until I saw the piccies on here - heart breaking ! But as others have said, the main thing is you're in one piece, and hopefully the car can be put right.

Jason

Really sorry to read your story of what should have been a great day turn cataclysmically bad. I feel particularly touched as my black RS was decked out in the same orange paint and decals as yours when I got it. The car can be fixed, so stay strong and put it down to one of those bad things that happens to most of us at some stage in our lives. Hope the back and whiplash is feeling better. Hoping to hear some good news from you in a few months time.

All the best

Good news.

Looks like panel damage only.

No damage to sill or chassis - cant believe how strong these little beauties are.

Insurance assessor sees car on Monday - engineer is under instruction not to let him leave until he has written in his own blood that car will not be written off.

Should be back to new (or better[;)]) in no time....

Things are looking up[:D]

[:(] WOW .... that's bad, glad you're OK though and I guess things are looking up, only panel damage, Mr P does build a really good car!!! Could've been much, much worse.

glad to hear you are alright, i drove past the junction and saw your car just as it was being put on the recovery truck, at quick glance looked a right mess. its always sobering to think no matter how you drive or what you drive there is always someone out there intent on spoiling your day!

Good to hear you ok and its only panel damage which should be fixable ,take care ,Now youll need to track the GT3 although your RS was looking superb liked the orange suits the car . cu soon Gordon
