always good to put the faces to the names, good to meet you all Paul H (thx for the pump thingy...much obliged) John P, Andy and Tim, Boydy....and everyone else who Vic and Mel introduced me too!

.....but Matt you must have very large nuts mate....I really don't fancy it in the wet![;)][:D]

[FONT=Trebuchet MS"]I had a great time, good bunch of guys and very courteous driving on the whole, good to meet Melv, and others, think i did OK considering its was my 1st track day in the GT3, hope everyone got home OK and that your not too knackered, James the red mist decended and the rain came, but it actually brightened up and got a few more laps in, Great day
Cheers John [FONT=verdana,geneva"]

and the rain came

I thought it was jolly decent of Paul to go out and dry the track for everyone - and take the top off some of the bumps.

We must book him for other rain-threatened track days.

Any time, glad to help drying the track out.I think i have to raise my car a little before we race there in july!
It start grounding in only 3 places at first, new car ,not so familar circuit and all that.Eventualy started pressing on a bit harder ,and then lost count of how many times it grounded out! Some places it actually caused the steering to go rather light.
Friday was good fun, caving trip in the back of vics car, impressive 550bhp and a whopping 800nm of tourque.I do know now why i like 993 gt2,s.Vic if you do sell it,what you going to get next?
Good to meet up with all you guys at the chinese and sat track time.

Come on Paul it was 551 ..................and u know the secret of the extra !!!!Think if the lsd had been working ....................??????
Totally great couple of days , enjoyed meeting the folk from across the border any doubts of the power on Boydy 's car[ on another thread] was clear on the track..........VERY CLEAR , some lovely kit even if ur bottom was sparking when the car wasnt kicking out those flames on overrun Paul!

Excellent day despite being bloody cold.

My 1st time at this challenging track, but I doubt the last.

Good to see lots of Porkers being driven as they should be & Caterham drivers who used their mirrors for a change.

Sorry vic 551 it is,and very impressive in deed for a regular town car, with regular track outings.
It aint just numbers is it,these cars go bloody well!
Oulton is a real good circuit, but can be a little unforgiving, with its off cambers etc but it all adds to a good day, lucky with the weather, and as you said some good driving standards by all.
I think the only person to get black flagged was my son for driving to close to pete morris!Peter was pacing / testing graham ,to see if he is quick enough for the club champs. They were lapping at 2 mins dead ,which seems reasonable for a 1978 sc.

Great weekend, and good to see lots of 964RS's giving it some -here's to the next one!!

Hi fellas,

Good to meet you all on Friday at Colin's and on Saturday at Oulton. I thought the gathering at 9M was really entertaining. Vic's car was just mental on the rolling road.

I'm not sure if I was the only driver to go off-roading at Oulton. I completely ran out of talent before spinning nicely and landing on the grass. No harm done.

Thanks to Melv for letting me have a passenger ride and for letting me borrow his satnav and road atlas.

U may not have been the only off ,but those tulips growing out of ur rear PU will be unique............great to see the car going so well ........................by the way has ur Brothers wife found him yet??

I didn't realise he was spinning all the way to Amsterdam!!

BTW, I think Dan was last seen praying at the Great Altar of the Toilet Seat....

He could have done with John's barf bags......[;)], but it seems to be a family trait....[:-]

X5 deisels do cause a bit of a problem. You don't realise how good they are until you hav been in one. we are on our second and use it as the family bus. I really don't know a better workhorse (sorry for the off topic!)

I caught up with my brother on Sunday. The green complexion had settled thankfully. And he had found his wife at last.

I must admit, I get a bit pukey if I have too many passenger laps. I had a few laps with Melv but I decided to ask him to bring me in after just a few laps just in case. He also advised me to lean my head into the corners when passengering which seemed to help.

I gave my car a good wash on Sunday. The amount of mug and grass stuck to the rear wheel arch was comedy.

John -I was stone cold sober on the way to the Chinese...[:D]

Howells and Son, like me, were hoping for an early night! I think we got back to base just after midnight!! [;)]

Chaps,

Here are a few pics of my car from Oulton. I was well impressed with the 50 photos I got for £30.
