Just an out lap in yet to be sorted orange 964 ( got RS antirollbars), not bad weather as you can see if you stay awake long enough [:D]

A late afternoon lap when the circuit was almost deserted. Not a patch on Caymen Chris's 2 minute cooling down lap, but sounds great with the volume turned up a bit [;)]. Unfortunately the camera placement in the car is not great either, the rev counter's not working - all in all, not sure why I'm even posting it!!

Apart from the shaky start, another great Easytrack RS day and evening, and great to catch up with everyone. Well done Mel, John, .....

Nice gentle warm up lap John, the new car looks fun...

You can see from the video where 964's have been round previously, by the ammount of kitty litter on the track to soak up all of the leaked oil! []

@Paul -if only you knew how close to the truth you are!!!![&:]

@Tim -was that with Spud up yer chuff??!![:)]

Melv...I wasn't having a cheeky dig,,unfortunately I heard from a few sources that some cars didn't like the idea of holding on to their oil......makes Oulton even more of a challenge! [:D]

Tim and Spud were the main entertainment of the Oulton afternoon 964RSwise. ....and were reunited in the Chetwode somewhat later fuelled by Hoegaarten .
That's a great video set -up Tim , I like the speed and G force readouts . My spycam is OK for video but poor on audio , nevertheless is useful for judging lap times (after the event) . Glad you posted it , got some work to do on corner entry speed [;)]

He did say.....I just drove over thirty-five mins at the end on a track with barely half-a-dozen cars on until the fuel light lit up....234 klicks -result![:)]

Thanks Tim, No documentary evidence of the lap time, just a hint from Kevin :)

The passenger seat was continually occupied --- only a shame that I ran out of fuel time in the afternoon --- 95 litres in the day at 2 miles per litre ---

Have jet washed the car over the weekend and the PCCB discs have become shiny :)

Next time ? Are you at Donnington with Steve ?

You can see it just starting to slide at ?? ...

Thanks John

It's a Video VBox which I normally have in my SC for racing. The front facing camera is better mounted further forward (so half the picture isn't taken up with the rear view mirror) and a bit lower down. I had mounted a second rear facing camera which I was hoping would provide some great "Spud" action, but as it was sucker mounted on the rear screen, they wouldn't let me use it.

You can customise the view to suit the car and available inputs. The link below shows the setup I was using in the Club Championship in the SC last year, and includes 2nd camera, rev counter, current gear and a whole load of lap information. I've also fitted a heads up display in the SC giving you real time lap and split information. Cool stuff...

I've bought the same system Tim so I could do with some advice from you sometime please. [:D]

I purchased the velcro roll-cage straps to hold the two cameras and the Predictive Lap Timing dsiplay. [8|]

Not sure the velcro will get past scruts Paul. Lots of places sell solid mounts for far less than the vendors will do them.

I've used Vbox, but currently have RaceTech V4 system, coupled with Farringdon data logger in the Jedi. Set it up so it starts when the car moves, and has a hold for about 2-3mins. that way you never forget and it wont switch off post the Green flag lap for start.

Good peices of kit, and very useful.

I've not heard of anyone having problems with the velco mounts - I certainly haven't.

You can configure the VBox to not switch off until after a certain period.

If they see it, they wont let it through, used to be 2 different attachment methods in the blue book, but that was for old large camcorders, they've relaxed with bullet cams, but still unsure Velcro will cut it.

On behalf of the fighting Irish, we totaled 12 in all, thanks. This day, which I stumbled upon 5 yrs ago by mistake typifies whats good about driving a Porsche. Melv and Paul and the others who I dont know their names, are due an extra large Thank You.

Probably , the best track day in the World !

Great event, great location, great fellow drivers and great cars. Why, I can even forgive the noise police.
