A few points....
1. I have never come across alusil sleeves
2. The Nicasil solution uses liners
3. The engine done at EMC I believe has steel liners not alusil, it still re -uses standard pistons
4. If you have scoring you will be lucky to get rid of it with a 0.5mm overbore
5. The JE or wiseco pistons need to be coated to work in alusil, how well the coating lasts I dont know
6. Alusil is not a lining or coating process, it is simply a system of lapping the bores with felt pads and paste to reveal the harder silicon particles that are already there as opposed to Nicasil which is a plating system.
To summarise, if you want to stick with your block unless you are lucky and can get away with a 100.5 overbore, the only other options are steel sleeves, or a Perfect Bore style Nicasil system. The best bet - source a good used engine and forget about rebuilding its just not economical unless you are going for more power - read 2.8, 3.0 or 3.2 conversion. You may even be able to source a complete shortblock from Porsche for less than it would cost you to rebuild including labour.
