PCGB Race Meetings in 2009

Me too, this time Stephanie will be with us as well and a fair sized contingent from this region. Should be one of the best race weekends of the year.

Good luck Paul.

Neil -thx. Just been sent the entry list and it has a couple more quick drivers than were present at Thruxton.

So been psyching myself up for the challenge - plenty of visualization and positive thoughts. It is quite a narrow track and reknowned for spectacular offs, so have that in the back of my mind as well.

If I can keep inside the top 10 like last time out, that will be a decent result for me.

Racing at Croft near Darligton this weekend -- Sat/Sun 26/27th Sept. One race each day.

Anyone venturing up to that? or down even !! Come and see if the 968's can beat the 911's

Watched the 968s beating the Beetles on Saturday. First, second and a 944 in third [:)]

How long before the front engined cars get handicapped to give the 911s a chance?

IMO it also depends on the circuit type and who is behind the wheel. The power to weight ratios are strictly controlled in the regs and that is the way it should stay.

Having a front engine did not help me as much as hoped --my brain needs more work! (as well as a rebuilt front strut, it lost fluid and wore out an internal bearing)

roll onto Silverstone this Fri & Sat

Good luck Paul this weekend! All 3 of us will be along to give you moral support, or disturb you when trying to get in the zone [:D] depending on when we are around.

David -- great set of photos -- the body wrap on Mad Pete's car is great

Silverstone:
I will be easy to find in the paddock -- just look for the 6m tall multi-coloured banner.

NB 2 of us racing in PCGB are raising money for Barnados -- so have your wallets or even better a cheque ready when you drop by!!!

Sadly Mad Pete's 968 got heavily modified in the morning Qualifying session - Paul tells me it was related to the ABS. Hope he's OK.

Will be putting up a bigger gallery after tomorrow. Meanwhile - thanks for the tickets, Paul!

That is some spyderspeed going on there spyderman [:)] I haven't even got round to getting my pictures of the camera yet. It was a good weekend all round but Saturday night was getting cold and tired so we left well before the end of the main event.

It was great to see so many familiar faces.

sypder -- some excellent photos there.

overall a good weekend for me despite the fuel pump fuse ending my 2nd race with 1 lap to go (I suspect the live feed is chafing somewhere) -- am more determined than ever to succeed at this racing lark, so am making plans for my 2010 campaign as I write!

see race report at www.stocksports.co.uk

we raised about £400 for Barnados -- so thx to everyone who helped that along

The outcome of the Britcar 500 seemed to be a bit of a mess with the lead car (driven by Calum) being mistakenly waved passed by the SC and then being penalised for it!! never seen Calum annoyed but steam must of been coming out of every orifice!!
