PCM 3.0 update?

ORIGINAL: dereksharpuk

The new connector came standard on my new Gen 2, but not the old Gen 2. However, you cannot use it and a USB memory stick at the same time as it uses the USB connection

Really? I had an '09 car and the cables supplied wouldn't allow for charging an Iphone[:-]

An update!

Just got my car back from Sutton Coldfield. They have checked the connections and updated the firmware.

I was at 1.1 and after the update its now at 1.4.

Its not crashed so far!!!!!

The maps dont appear to have been updated and are still a year or two out of date (i.e. recent changes near to where i work).

Ill let you know. (fingers crossed)

Cheers

I posted this in the members only area, but copied it to here..

Hi Mark, Yes your OPC can now supply a new cable which charges the Touch/iphone, haven't yet got it as I've got an older ipod I can use but will at some point - probably at the same time as getting the PSE fitted!

Cheers,
Simon

It reset once today and twice yesterday.

OPC (Sutton) said they will look into it.

Older ipod works fine although once had to be connected/reconnected.

You mention a cable for the ipod touch......i would have thought it would be compatible with it being about for a while now???   Where did you hear about this cable?  Is it a Porsche supplied cable or after market?

Have you or anyone else tried the USB method of getting music onto the PCM?

cheers

Yes, put some music onto the USB stick as a test, worked fine but prefer the ipod method. I also downloaded some data after some laps just to see the level of detail from Sports Chrono, this worked fine also.

Cheers

Guys, an update to the pzzzssstttt problem on PCM3.0

I took my car into Midsussex this today to get the PSE fitted and I mentioned the pzzzssstttt problem as over the last couple of days it has occurred on a number of occassions.

The very helpful service guy went away and told me that they have received a software update for PCM3.0 that fixes this problem and that it will be updated under warranty for me.

So, I get the car back on Monday. So, those that have experienced the pzzzzssssttttt problem, give you friendly OPC a call for a software update under warranty.

Cheers
Mark

**Edit, BrownMB - Confirm, my PCM3.0 software version is now 1.4. Cheers
