That's an interesting statement. Why would that be? In the older PDK cars the engine stays coupled to the drive which ever gear you are in and even in the latest version with the "coasting" feature it will re-couple the engine to gearbox when the brake is applied in the "appropriate" gear. If you drive them in flappy paddle mode it's the same as a manual from the point of view of gear selection/engine braking etc. (Although I gather that using the engine to slow the car by changing down the 'box is frowned upon these days![ORIGINAL: trotter
but there's not as much involvement in PDK as manual brakes are working harder.
