Hi,

You are correct the new rad that has been replaced is where the damage is located, I have been having sleepless nights over this all week now, but I have gathered some interesting information, I will reserve all the details till I have met with the supplying dealer and seen what they have to say.

Thanks for all the information guys, really helpful, its good to know I think im doing everything in my power.

Hi Guys and Gals,

I thought i would update you all with what seems to be a never ending nightmare.

Well since my last post there has been a mountain of conresondance with no sense of any outcome becoming present, to cut a long story short, I wasn't prepared to have the supplying dealer repair the car, I had lost all trust in them, they did offer from the start to repair the car back to its former glory, but even so, I wasn't really happy with them carrying the work, so I suggested an independent OPC carry out the repairs, someone not involved in the situation, the supplying dealer refused this proposal, they also kept saying that the repairs they were willing to do were a gesture of goodwill, I couldn't believe what I was hearing, so I sought some legal advise and it transpires they have breached a section of the Supply of Goods act 1982, unfortunately this act states that I must allow the dealer the opportunity to put the damages right before anything else can happen.
So, I went back to the supplying dealer and agreed for them to carry out the repairs, I stated all the items that I knew that needed repairing and also stated all other parts that needed replacing would be replaced at there expense, this was agreed, that was over 2 weeks ago.

I recieved an e-mail on Thursday saying the car was ready for collection, I agreed that today (Saturday) I would inspect the car in the hope that everything would be in order, I will add, that my hopes were not high, and its a good job they wernt as what I veiwed this morning is not the car i bought in July, nor I think it will ever be.

I was greeted at the garage this morning with the car in the air, on a ramp, so i could inspect the underside, new under trays and new splitter fitted, everything looking in order, then the ramp was lowered, and upon first glance the car is looking mint, fresh resray to the front bumper, and the lines of the panels looked alot more in line, it was only when looking closer I found what again is unbelievelby poor workmanship and bitter disappointment, the bonnet is still sitting higher than the wings, and not by a little, by 4/5mm, which is a massive differance, now the points of wings that come round the front of headlights differ, again 4/5mm differance, I opened up the bonnet to see the inside lines and couldnt believe what I saw, you can see where they have undone the painted bolts that hold on the wing, moved the wing and re done up the bolts, you can clearly see the were the bolt positions were as they havent painted the inside of the wing were it has been moved, the worst thing which I think is really worring me, is the 2 rubber bump stops on the under side of the bonnet where set at competely differant heights, the drivers side was wound right up to the top thread, and the passenger stop was wound down by about 10/12mm or about 2 threads, which if you look at you own bump stops they are big threads, the garage said that was ok as they are only used to stop the bonnet flexing when closed, If he thought I was going to buy that he must think I was born yesterday, I had to explain to him that if these stops needed that much differance to stop the bonnet flexing, then the bumper it was resting on clearly cant be level !!!!!!!, he still dis agreed with me, which again I could hardly believe as the it was there in front of him to see.

After all this I started to really look aroud the car, and unbelively there is now another scuff mark on the rear bumper below the passenger brake light cluster, which wasnt there 2 weeks ago, and the passenger rear brake light cluster is loose, i can acutally move the whole cluster whilst fixed on the car by 10mm, the fixing lugs are also cracked, I had to leave the garge as I was so angry I didnt want to talk any further.

I am now at my wits end with this, the summer is over and the car i bought to enjoy for the summer has been in the garage the whole summer, Im absoluted gutted.

What I would really like to do is view another 996 turbo to see if my worries are really true, If their is anyone in the essex area or surrounding areas who wouldnt mind me taking a look at their car it would be really apprecited, I need to know that im not just picking holes in something, I need solid proof that there is a problem with my car and the repairs, I will drive to you to see your cars.

Ethier email me or post here if you can help,

Many thanks
