Vic,
It's Jiff's birthday Friday hense the family engagement.

As he comes from what we all now know as Middle Earth, in fact a little hamlet called hobbiton (or was that Hotti-timaru-ton) he will be celebrating the ripe old age of Eleventy One, that's quite a 'respectable' age for Hobbit!!!! [;)]

ORIGINAL: Matt

anybody here know if you can have a bash at this at home?

my wheels are body coloured, however as my name is not Hans, I have no mullet, tight trousers or white socks and I don't live in Hamburg in the early 1990's, I'd prefer them to be silver....

in my youth playing with old VW's I know that people used to strip the paint off old alloys and then polish & laquer them with stunning results - but I wondered whether the liberal use of nitromors and high speed polishing devices would cause any damage to the RS wheels with them being magnesium...which could be quite an expensive mistake

Anybody know?

cheers

Matt

Matt I like them Maritime Blue leave them until they ultimately need refurbishing, and never never go near them with any kind of solvent........I shall be having my spare set painted red by Diamond Styling...........

Oops, must be urban myth re Cup 1 brake clearance. I was told this by the previous owner of mine when I asked why the spares were nasty 993 Cup 2s, LOL. I can see the logic tho' as the standard 964C2 has rubbish calipers compared to the lightweights.

Matt: you seem to have a good grasp of the problem now. Chrome hubcaps are indeed 'must have' and cable ties will prevent the chavs removing them. :)

See you guys Sat at Oulton...
