Porsche Assistance - Limitations

[FONT=arial"]At long last we now have some clarification on Porsche Assistance conditions. [:)] Here's the latest from Porsche Cars GB:-[FONT=verdana,geneva"]

[FONT=arial"]"Dear Mr White[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=sans-serif"]Thank you for your continued patience. I have momentarily finished with the relevant management in relation to your questions.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=sans-serif"]Firstly, Porsche Cars Great Britain Limited would like to thank you for your oversight and bringing this to Porsches' attention. This has resulted in management reviewing the wording and amending where necessary. As a result of this, a new policy booklet will be distributed in the autumn of this year.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=sans-serif"]1. The text refers to breakdown. Does this include roadside attention/recovery resulting from a road traffic accident?[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=sans-serif"]'Yes'.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=sans-serif"]2. In 6 "What is not included" a number of exclusions are specified including assessment for un-roadworthiness, poor maintenance condition, kerbing collision, incorrect technical requirements etc. Who makes these roadside judgements please, since it is stated in your literature your patrols and agents are not in a position to comment on general safety or roadworthiness? [FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=sans-serif"]'Porsche Assistance have such legalities to follow in relation to customer insurance etc. however, all scenarios are looked at on a case by case basis.'[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=sans-serif"]3. Similarity, assistance can be declined due to variously described customer induced incidents or neglect. Who makes the roadside decision and what appeal procedure is there in the event of disagreement, please?[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=sans-serif"]'Porsche Assistance have such legalities to follow in relation to customer insurance etc. however, all scenarios are looked at on a case by case basis. In the event of a disagreement, Porsche would encourage the customer to bring this to the attention of Porsche Cars Great Britain Limited Customer Assistance department to act as an intermediary and liaise with Porsche Assistance directly.'[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=sans-serif"]4. Specifically, assistance is declined when a valid road fund license is not displayed, but it has not been necessary to display a VED disc in vehicle windscreens in the UK since 2014. May I assume therefore this is no longer applies and can you confirm this, please?[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=sans-serif"]'A tax disc does NOT need to be visible in a vehicle windscreen. This has been reworded in the new policy booklet in accordance with the changes in 2014.'[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=sans-serif"]5. If this is one condition that can be disregarded, are there other conditions in the document that also do not apply and if so which, please?[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=sans-serif"]'No.'[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=sans-serif"]Please accept my sincere apologies in the delay in getting the above information to you from Porsche Assistance.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=sans-serif"]Should you have any further questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
[FONT=sans-serif"]Kind regards[FONT=verdana,geneva"]

Thanks Clive - and well done on getting this clarified.
Do you know if the New Car Assistance and the Extended Assistance either bought after three years or provided with an approved Used vehicle provide the same cover?

I am currently waiting for a response from Porsche Connect as my new 991.2 Connect Services don't work in the Isle of Man (where I live), it's not the end of the world as I don't really need it when at home, the Satnav (except Google Maps), telephone and radio are all fine - just the internet side of things. A little annoying when two years data is included with the car and it won't work when in my home area!
