Porsche build certificate.

Same really, the swaying factor of joining was the build certificate. I joined at Ragley hall and was not told there would be a time limit to submit the form. This is like PPI, mis-sold and mislead. Is there any solicitors on here? No win no fee preferred...Axlef123 said:Even more annoying as I put my forms into the dealership on the 19th October.majorporsche said:I was told today when visiting a dealer that all dealers were informed not to process after 7 th December 2018 and that there would be no more. Hard to believe / accept really, surely there would have been a bigger out cry here and elsewhere. Seems it's not only the FOC ones.
So annoying and part of the reason I joined the club to be honest.

There are far more relevant reasons to join the club than getting a free piece of paper that is sometimes inaccurate.
How about the camaraderie of it members and being a part of the Porsche community for starters?
If members really want a CofA then I am sure that you can still contact Porsche GB and pay for the service.
I agree 100% Peter but, as you can see, people do join just for this reason
Porsche have stopped the service, not just the free version club members had!

I hadn't realised that - thanks for letting me know.
As many of you will be aware, the Certificate of Production from Porsche Cars Great Britain ceased in December. This was a popular and long-standing member benefit which the Club worked hard to try and retain. A combination of GDPR, legal concerns and a change in management at Porsche meant that ultimately it wasn’t possible for the member benefit to continue. Porsche will be launching a product to replace the CoP, but in no way will it be linked to the previous offering.
Edit - This post re-written for clarity and to reproduce the extract word for word.
With advanced knowledge, surely many could have submitted their applications promptly and avoided the cut-off date.
Regards,
Clive
It seems the missive from "on high" to RO's and RS's failed to reach the ears of grass root members, which rather makes my point we need a members' liaison officer to disseminate such information to members. []

Wayne,
Surely there are better reasons for joining the Club than having a piece of paper which, from prior comments on the forum, quite often is incorrect? Other than being perhaps nice to have, it's unlikely to add any value either to your car or to your ownership.
If you're really that bothered I'm sure you could construct your own version using the option codes inside the service book, if necessary with help from your local Porsche Centre.
Incidentally, although you're now a Member I note that you're still listed as a Guest of the Club on the forum. You should contact Admin to get that changed.

No reflection on you Alan - but here's the thing. If the benefit did indeed end on 13th December and the Club was aware of this well in advance and was working hard to retain it - why on earth is it left until now to announce it when, had members been advised earlier, there may have been time for those who wanted to, to try and beat the deadline?

No, the swaying thing was that piece of paper. Thank you for advising it will not add any value to my car or ownership. Even though I cannot remember asking you for that.
