Porsche Colour

So Linen Metallic it is then...

Thanks for the replies, truth is I just bought the car and although I suspected it was an original Porsche colour (it was resprayed from white in 2005) I has doubts creeping in and I thought I would see what the experts would say...

Its also useful to know what code to use when ordering touch up paint, as I'm sure I'll be needing a little of that...

Picking up the car tmro, and cant wait...

Cheers
Edd

That pic exactly describes the difference as I visualised them (not having seen the colours together). You don't have a Krystal car socked away somewhere to finish it do you Malc?

Note how the Zermatt car's rear wing is more gold than the wheel, but less gold than the Linen.

Sadly not but someone clearly planned ahead for this very subject [:D]

I'm sure your Glacier Blue varied between almost silver & quite a strong blue depending on the light, it's the same with all these pale metallic colours. It's also quite possible that at some point during it's 18+ year life the wheels have been painted on Wigeon Incognito's car.

Seller on eBay (oohooh68) seems to be able to make up any colour from the code. Made some titanium for my 944 and some topaz for an e46 that were perfect.

I wasn't able to get my pictures last night as I never went home, but when I do (probably Sunday now) I'll try to get a couple of snaps.

Fen, I see what you mean on that side by side photo. I've just never seen anything approaching a gold tinge on my car, it has always looked as silver as the rear of the car in the photo.

Re touch up paint, I've had Autopaint St Helens make up paint from the colour code for a number of cars and on a number of occasions and never had a problem with a fantastic match each time.

Thanks! No the wheels aren't quite the same colour, but very very close.

They are however very silver - I told Fen I'd put these pictures up so he could see why in my case I've never seen the gold tinge in the car that some people say they see in Zermatt.

Yep that looks very much like just silver doesn't it. Which is odd as the previous pic of Linen next to Zermatt that Malc posted showed the Zermatt look I expect to see.

It does look a nice car by the way.
