Porsche drivers - speeding ??

Yes its a rare factory model option.
The 966 looks similar in every way to a 996 but has the added attraction of extra wide door handles, a huge steering wheel and a gearknob that a Gorilla could comfortably hold.
It was available in the model year 2000 and was factory designated Porsche 966 FFM.
The FFM stands for Fettes Fingriges Modell.

This translates as - Fat Fingered Model.

It was not a success outside of Lanarkshire , with only one recorded model optioned as such.

what a load of nonsense.
all based on some persons 'judgement', their nose was probably put out of joint and arrogance forced them to make the complaint.

I wonder if the same reaction would be seen if it was in relation to a more 'socially acceptable' car.
just sounds like the usual porsche rage from a numpty motorist that thinks he is doing 55mph as his peedo reads so but in reality it is 36mph and holding up a procession of cars.

Partially agree with the 1984 chat, yes it is some people views enforced on society as a whole - I think more education is needed.
But also remember it is safety limits we are talking about and nobody these days are brave enough to make the decision to alter a safety limit, even if it is the sensible thing to do.

its the one size fits all policy, easy to police and entrap/enforce but not the best way.

good point, have experienced similar. when overtaking the highest priority should be to get out of danger (ie the lane where opposing traffic is travelling) as quickly as possible. You should not have to worry if you are momentarily breaking a speed limit to do so and having to react to a speed trap mid manouver. It is counter effective in terms of safety.

Plus if you are spending brain power looking for speed traps and constantly checking your speed, it is less resources available for observing the road and driving to a high standard.

in advanced driving (well motorcycling) they tell you that the most important things are observation and positioning. you then adjust speed to suit. The key word is appropriate speed and this is from highly experienced and trained advanced instructors and police instructors.
