Porsche only Trackday - Elvington 20th November

i may come along to watch, did a day at elvington earlier this year with javelin which was my first trackday and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend it to anyone! I was really caning it and spun 3 times but there is so much run off i never left the track.
It is hard on tyres, mainly scrubbing the shoulder but what a laugh!
Its where you find out how amazing these cars are!
I had an instructor in scooby sti running full slicks chasing me and he could not catch me![:D]
Dont think i will track it this time as i have just put on some new rear michelins.....

on 3 wheels @elvington!![:D]

Hmmm...wonder if I should switch my mags (with new Pirellis) to my 996 alloys with Michelin Pilot Cup Sports...[&:]

Or am I too lazy...

As it is too late to join in the fun, there is quite a few of us on here that would love to know the situation regarding spectating.

Is it possible??

Cheers

I am happy for a couple of specators but due to the lack of facility's at Elvington don't really want to encourage too many. I have emailed others that have enquired. If you want to come along let me know [:)] If you wanted to join in with the fun I could probo squeeze you in [:)]

Just a tip for anyone going to Elvington. I did a trackday there a couple of years back in a
seven & the main problem I found was stone chips.
There seems to be a LOT of loose stones on the surface & my rear arches were so peppered with chips
they turned from black to primer over the day (had to have them re-painted after)
It may have been more of a problem for seven type cars however if you are running anything turbo bodied
with wide rear arches I'd consider gaffer taping them up over a wider area than the usual stone guards.
Don't follow too close either or your nose will suffer!

Then again they might have re-done the surface by now [;)] .....have fun, I did!

Its still very stony and the concrete surface is very very abrasive. I got through a set of tyres in 3 trackdays in my Marcos racer earlier in the year.

no spectators.....crazy !!..[:(]

maybe if there was spectators it would give people a insight into what goes on on trackdays and if this opportunity arises again there ''MAY'' be more people wanting to have some fun !! maybe worth taking into consideration for the guy whos running it !! .

Oh !! ...by the way the runway has not been re-done, it is tough on your tyres and your car , been there many a time on many trackdays

General spectators are not allowed at the request of the organisers and Elvington. Invited / approved spectators are allowed [;)]

Well done James and fast track! [;)]

Elvington is a fantastic venue to explore the limits of your car - which I did a lot and got wrong a lot too[8|]
Superb relaxed atmosphere - loads of great people and lots of fun.
Oh and what about the weather......

Great watching you guys going round the track , shame i didnt have track insurance otherwise i would of without a doubt joined in , well done james,

keith

Full marks James for a great day today - that was HUGE fun [:)].

Jacob - next time I'll not bother pulling over for you - after all it is rude not to pass when invited [;)].

Top day at a top location. Anybody wanting to have fun in their car without worrying about damage (and not too bothered about tyre wear), Elivington is the place.

As for the ice, what ice?
