Plus a rather special interloper ! (previously owned by the Manager of Led Zeppelin and then Rowan Atkinson who bought it on a whim as the colour matched that of his McLaren F1 [8|] )

Great pictures, love all the boots open instead of the usual "bonnets up & blokes in anoraks looking at engines" we normally get! [:D][:D]

The 959 is fantastic vehicle -

Boy, in profile it does look tail-heavy! [&o]

I couldn't believe it when he drove in. After so many Porsches through the gate, a 959 rolling up as if nothing special was happening made me do a huge double-take. It's a real q-car, especially in that colour. One of my poster-cars as a kid, along with the F40, and seeing it close-up just makes me curse the fact that I can't afford it. The only 911 I really lust after? Probably. [8D]

These shots look fantastic. As if they may of come straight out of a Porsche calendar

Especially love this one

Ha funny you should ask, totally old school, I was using a film camera (Oly OM-4Ti) and 50mm f1.4 standard prime with Kodak Portra 160VC.

Glad you like...

I like the interior shot too, the owner of the car kindly let me open the door to take the shot, his car was beautiful...

Some more here....

You need to practice a bit more and choose the right lens or stand further back mate..............then you`ll get the whole car in the shot

Who says digital is better than film!!

Is there any digital processing done after you converted? The colours, smoothing and contrasts are spot on.

Yes I think shots like these show that film still has the edge in dynamic range even if overall resolution has been surpased by digital. Films ability to show bright white hightlights together with rich blacks is still only equalled by the very top end digital cameras (and then only just).

The shots were adjusted for exposure and some level adjustment in the shadows for web publication, the original 7x5 prints are very close to what you see above.

Alas film is not dead...yet..

Edd

You just have to love the results that film gives, my problem is that I'm not yet seeing great compositions first time so being able to fire off several shots and review later is a real boon.
