Porsche Post Feb Issue

Me, I thought there was a distinct lack of 944-focused articles in this month's magazine so should I resign from the Club in protest?

with the magazine it's what 's in that month ,that is of interest to the viewing club members personal interest at the time.

To be fair the club magazine in the past has been abit of a yawn. But of late the mag has been fighting back with some interesting articals. I have not got my copy of Feb yet but when i do i will enjoy the read by all accounts.

As with any magazine it takes effort from all to make it so diverse. But agreed that advertisements in there are abit heavy but to be fair you only have to look at Porsche 911 world and see just the same, which is why I don't buy it. With out the adds the magazine would cost more so there is no easy answer to this.

I know Paul as well and I know what a wind up he is ....[;)] :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: no I mean what a committed early 911 owner he is have you seen his current project!!

Also there is not alot of early content in general so it's nice to see for a change... some grass routes stuff.

I wonder what the modern 996/Boxter membership think when they see the Early content intensifying?
The PP has a very broad spectrum to cover indeed.

In the summer months the coverage for motorsport is huge, without the racers of all types the mag would be thin!

As to adverts, I buy most months 911 World for early or techie articles or for the ads if I want something.
Just look at the real classic car mags for advert content! It is simply staggering content (and revenue?)
Little wonder publishers of EVO etc have a Zonda or others in the garage(s)!

I think people like to read about motor adventures in nice cars, trips to Le Mans in a 73 Bitza or a hillclimb or a charity bash. We must all have something interesting to send to PP!

I would dearly love to see an article on a 993 restoration in PP - however - I have to accept that most 993s haven't yet reached the age where they need restoring. Early 911 owners are more fortunate in that respect ... [;)]

Funny enough it would look very like an early 911 restoration. It's amazing the similarities, especially in the basic body shell and engine departments.

Ian.

A few years (maybe) back there was an article on converting a 993 (I think) from LHD to RHD which was really well done and very professional. Having done my early 911 over a decade ago, the similarities are very close.

I just think these kind of DIY/pro articals on the dirty bits are great; age of car is irrelevant?

That was a good 993 story. I remember when it was posted on this forum. As I recall the chap restored an accident damaged 993 and damaged his thumb in the process !

The trouble is that with many accident damage restorations, people like to keep quiet about the damage and any shortcuts they have taken to fix the car. Clearly he was the exception.
