Porsche Rust Warranty

You say the 10 years were up in November 05. Were all the Porsche body inspection stamps in the book? You mention the seal was not sitting correctly and they rectified this. Was it a case that the car has had a replacement windscreen at some time and that the seal was not fitted correctly at that time? If the answer to all of these is yes then I think whilst difficult you would have good cause to seek them to rectify it. What they seem to dismiss is that rust does not happen overnight. For it to reach the extent you have described it must have been rusting away merrily for a good few years which means it would have manifested itself well inside the warranty period. As good as the forums are with everyone who contributes showing a genuine effort to help each other perhaps this rust issue ought to find itself in print in the POST. A good bit of high profile publication may achieve something for which is obviously and admittedly a manufacturing fault. What do you think Maurice?

Good luck

I have only just picked up this thread. I was just about to start a new one on bubble rust under the front windscreen seal.

I had windcreen replaced about 6 months ago at PCT. They said seal was a bit low and now corrected disclosed some bubble underneath. It looked very minor but went to give her her first big polish of the new year and it looks worse than I thought. There's a 6 to 8 inch area near the passenger post with a couple of quarter inch squares, a quarter inch square between wiper and a little bit above the screen on driver side.

My 10 year was up in November so from Maurices comments it isn't even worth trying this.

Had a local accident repair centre look. They said windscreen out cut and weld etc. I am happy to spend what it needs to get it right but I don't want it returning.

Can anyone recommend what I do and who I got to?

Thanks

from the sizess you mention I would get that sorted asap.....

although from my post it was only £540 for the base of the screen at which point everything was already stripped...

my advice to everyone within the 10 year period is to check their car for any evidence of rust, then visit their local OPC and see what they can do, stamp or no stamp, and don't let the odd comment on the forum put you off, you have nothing to lose....
