'PORSCHE' side stripes. Where from?

Ha! Needs to be more than that!

I will be hillclimbing again in the old 911 in 2008 in the sports car class which has 700 bhp Audi Quattro's in it as you know. 2008 will be for fun fun fun while i ponder the fate of the Impreza....
Be nice to be a real car again!

Can I have a bright yellow RS 964 prepared for the hills by Bob Watson please?

Yes, I know, ''In your Dreams!'.......[:(]

Just a quick note to 911Hillclimber; it was your articles in Porsche Post in the early 90's that inspired me to rebuild an early 911S using "engineering" techniques rather than pure financial ones. Glad to say I still have the same car 15years later![:)]

we need pictures. [8D] have you made any modificatons ?

Helen: not sure if you are asking about the mods to my 911 or not, but in an attempt to 'join the gang' I will arrogantly spec by old 911 as it stands!

German spec 911T 1973 (Feb '73) Bought as a wreck in 1988 with glass sunroof, 2.2T engine on webbers/915 4 speed and a 3L exhaust system.
Welded it for 9 months and entered my first hillclimb at Batings Dam in 91. Beaten by a 308 funny red car and a black Jap box with 240Z on the boot.

Fitted a 2.4 E engine/S heads self re-build/2.7 Carrera exhaust and a RHD conversion! Added Bilsteins all round, A front brakes, 3L turbo rear torsion bars and roll bars + a demon Bob Watson set-up. Hillclimbed for several years and had a great time.
Installed a 3.2/5 speed 915, roll cage and crashed it at Shelsley Walsh....

Found it was far too slow in the class, and retired it in 2002 to buy an Impreza Sti with 4 x 4 and 300 bhp which is now 380 bhp and a full 6 seconds faster than the 911 on a given hillclimb!

ok, the impetzas faster but the 911 is just so much prettier [8D]

at least you can lose in style in a early 911 [:D][:D]

Impreza: Fast/easy/dull/competant/flattering/no rust.
911: fab/wonderfull/full of zest/drop-dead georgeous/loved by everyone who sees it/worth something/part of the family/owes me nothing/just so nice to have.

But we all know these things anyway!
