That's cheap - the PCGB novices afternoon was £195 for about 3 x 20 minute sessions between about 4pm and 8pm - and I believe MSV organise it for PCGB...

Will try and come down and watch at least. [:)]

That will be good Laurence ! We can talk about the glory days when the natural habitat of the RS was the track and Brands was the venue for the Club's annual celebrations [:)]

Clubsport, Engine is ready to go back in the car i just haven't had a chance to get on with it. Which is why it's taken soooo long. Actually if i'm honest I could do with a hand just getting the engine back under the car, engine and box are fairly heavy for me to move around and due to tight space getting the whole ensemble back unde the car will be tricky. I have a day off on friday to have a go. Volunteer helpers welcome !

Oldtimer, yes would be good to catch up and see your new machine and maybe catch a passenger lap or two. It's not completely impossible that i might book myself on if the car gets done in time.

At £119 it was too good an oppotunity to miss frankly.
I suspect with now good weather the places will sell out.
PS if anyone's willing I could do with some tuition

I booked on the Brands day on 16/8 for the GP circuit before seeing this thread!!! DOH!.......I may book in for the 21st evening too as agree its a good price and a few hours on a summers eve with the 964 fold would be cool.

Just booked this. Looking forward to it. Done 3 track days in the GT3 so far and it's bloody rained each time! Must be due a dry one - Fingers crossed.......

Many thanks for the passenger laps Oldtimer and Ian. Had a very enjoyable evening. great track day with a reasonable number of cars attending but not crowded. With almost perfect weather too.

Have to agree a great evening out and very low numbers on track. I introduced a track day virgin to Brands and he really enjoyed himself, everyone was well behaved and the weather turned out really nice. Lovely range of cars, I really wanted to have a chat with the Boxster 550 owner, as I have a sneaky feeling she was my old car but never got around to it.

Lastly, thanks to the 2 guys towing the red rsr rep at the M25 services. With no tools and mobile it could have been a long night.

Thanks guys your help was really appreciated!!!!

Hey Neal , your avatar looks like the white 997GT3 I ( Orange 964) was chasing round about 7pm in the evening , could not get in the slipstream to counter the extra ( 100+ ? ) horsepower it had......but still room for improvement by both of us to get below 60secs which looks like par for the Indy circuit !

PS was put off a bit by sun blinding at Clearways...

Cheers Oldtimer

Sounds like you guys had a good time - apart from the low sun! Wanted to be there (that would have been two 550s) but I just didn't make my mind up quick enough! Did the magazine do photos or videos?

I've not broken 1:00 yet myself on the Indy circuit - even in the race car! Best was 1:01.518

Hi Old timer .

Here was a few white ones out there, if it had black wheels it was me and your right I must try harder as I go faster around it in my golf [:D]

Did yours have the carbon bonnet? Looked very nice, I would live to have something like that in my garage looked a whole lot of fun

Was a good night, low sun and all....went to Bedford the Thursday before and would really recommend it. If you've not been, at 3.5 miles long it's a lot of fun.

Spyderman the one there was the coco version, I think yours has the black interior?....did we park next to each other at the classic in PCGB parking?

How's the racing going, are you at Coombe at the weekend?

I was there in red 996 GT3. First time out in the dry! Had a great evening but didn't get time to walk around, look at the other cars and say hi.
That's the only trouble with evening events, you have to make a lot more of the short time available. A day event is a lot more relaxed and sociable!

In the marsh you mean?! Yes.

Not racing until October (Donington) now. Saving my pennies - er, thousands - for next year. Might be buying a race car!

Sorry I missed it []

I managed a 57.126s in the 944 S2 back in May. I did have my eyes shut most of the time - especially at Paddock Hill Bend [&:]
