prime wheel diameter for your treasured 944 ?

For me it's nothing to do with the size of the wheel as to how it looks, it's the design and my absolute favourites are 17" Cup 1's

The only 16" that I like on 944s are the Fuchs and the deep dish Teledials, all the others are very plain and nondescript. On 17" I love Cup1, Cup2, Boxster twists. On 18" I too like the design that was on Nicks old car and also the split rim 993RS style.

Without doubt a smaller wheel with a higher sidewall will give a softer, more compliant ride but again its a very personal thing. Lets not forget that every Turbo owner who has fitted KW suspension says 'wow its so complinat and comfy on the road' yet as soon as a couple of S2 owners fitted KW's they immediately said it was harder and harsher than they had hoped

I think 18" look great on 944's but it all depends on the wheel design and I think 18"s only really look good if the suspension is lowered below stock height and if there are decent sized brakes behind the wheels. I can't stand the Saxo look of big wheels with nothing behind but a brake disc the size of a 10p piece and some piddly little caliper. 18"s look great with some big blacks/reds behind them.
