Any advice would be appreciated, Im currently in negotiations with regards to the plate
944 POR which I would like on the old girl, its fair to say that the plates value has fallen over say the last 10 yrs and whilst a crystal ball is not available I wondering what everybody thinks ? Im quite willing to lose money on the plate and intend to keep with 944's for years to come but dont really fancy the plate being worth say a third of its value again in 2/3 years - any thoughts ??

Cheers
Chris

It's worth whatever anyone will pay for it, but the seller has to realise that his captive market drive around in sub 10k cars and probably don't have the spare cash to pay silly money.

I think I'd pay £1000 - top whack (and I think that is silly money to be honest [8D])

Cheers Paul its fair to say that whilst I fancy the plate we are currently £££'s apart in what he wants for it and what Im willing to pay and bearing in mind Ive got a nice puddle in my rear well ( def the sunroof seals ) and my indicators have just packed up and Ive changed the relay which was only purchased last month and its not that, I think Ill keep my hard earned for the bits that fall off between now and reaching 200k miles [:D]

Make one yourself, put what you want on it and stick it on the back

Cost £5

You could even put PORSCHE 944 (never driven a por)

Then give £495 to a childrens charity......you will feel alot better

Yeah kind of puts it into perspective Mike , no wonder he's had the plate on retention for years , glad the moment of partial insanity passed - oh well he'll do well to sell it for what he's asking.

Oh dear, I fear he has misjudged his market place.

I wonder what he spent on it when he speculated all those years ago?

Oh dear, I fear he has misjudged his market place.

Even at £5K that would pehaps be more than the value of 50% of the remaining 944's in the country.

IIRC an owner paid IRO £1250 for a 944 reg in the last 12 months. Even he said that that was over the odds.

I think Mr Man is going to be as dissapointed as the chap who put up P944 *** recently.

I Believe that from the info gleamed he paid around the £11k [] mark for it in the early 90's so which ever way he turns its depreciated like a stone and they are just trying to recover some of the loss.

Northern Bloke - I offered 4 bags of Fruit Pastilles and a quarter of Strawberry Bon- Bons but to no avail [:D]

I think we should 'group buy' it. We could then share it between all our cars and use it for testing Road Angel's and the like [:D][:D][:D][:D]

Do we have to buy it for that use?

Next time there is a large meeting all put false plates on (944 por), take a photo and offer him £5 because demand has dropped.

Do not forget to take them off or the price will go up to pay all the fines.

Hope nobody will use that number this weekend!!!

Oops, I think this plate has just become worthless..............................................sorry......................................................not

[:D][:D][:D] If we all drive round plated as 944 POR he'll soon have to raise the price when all those fines drop through his door [;)]
