Thank you to all the members who turned out for the Prodrive visit, the 16 of us had a very enjoyable and interesting afternoon.
On arrival we were met by Jackie Irwin and her husband at the heritage centre where we were served with tea / coffee and biscuits, followed by an introduction to the cars within the centre and a resume of the companies background and principles ,which lasted about an hour.
Jackie then led us on a tour of the site explaining in great detail every step of the way, she is a wealth of knowledge and seemed to never get tired of the numerous questions asked of her.
We visited various areas including the engine and gearbox workshop , dyno area, body fabrication shop, machine shop ( where we were shown some of the most intricate precision machined car parts made from a variety of expensive strong and light weight metals ) , small fabrication / welding area, the Mini rally cars ( although it may look like a Mini , it is far far more ) the Aston Martin and race car assembly and workshop finishing back at the heritage centre.

Would like to especially thank Jackie and her husband, prodrive and John for organising it in the first place.

Steve
