Prospective purchase of a 3.2 Targa Sport

Hi Dominic,

My car did leak before it had the seals replaced. It has since also, but that was becasue the new seals were very stiff. A bit of vaseline and some carful positioning have now softened the seals and eliminated the leak.

I've never had a car with ABS, but then that is by design. I like to 'feel' what the car is doing, slightly raw. My wife's car has ABS and I hate it! It kicks in when braking on an uneven surface and makes me feel like I'm not going to stop!

I also don't mind having to work to drive it (no power steering, no ABS) this gives me a far more rewarding drive. I had a (no abuse please!) Ford Puma for about 6 months before my 911 and it was too clinical and detached.

I often wish I'd bought a coupe, so that I could make my car more of a track/fast road orientated car. The extra weight and reduced chassis rigidity of the Targa (arguably) limit the point of tweeking certain aspects of the car. But then on a sunny day......all regrets are banished because there's nothing like it!

Hope this helps with your decision.

Cheers,
Simon

See picture of child seat fitted by Quickfit. They had to add extra straps and buckles etc. - they know exactly what fits and how so best leave it to the experts !
