Yikes, just had this happen on my 2013 981…..surely this should have been a recall? This thread is ancient so apologies but obviously problem remains. At least I’ve developed another skill , “left foot unbraking”! Wonder if Porsche will give me a set of new pads as I just thought it was electrical fault when warning appeared on dash, interestingly saying drive normally with care! If brakes binding I don’t think very normal. Chat with OPC Monday

Hi Brian, yes it frustrates me as I know it’s easy diy but warranty dictates. I would have thought by now this would get checked as a matter of course when service/health checked for latest part. If this had happened on Euro trip I’d soon have gotten fedup with the brake releasing.I think it was mainly a 2012/13 car problem. Replacement bush was a different part no. Apparently not difficult to do yourself but helps if you are a small contortionist with 100% good knees. I’m neither and it was done under warranty.
If it has Porsche Approved warranty it should be covered. Good luck.Hi Brian, yes it frustrates me as I know it’s easy diy but warranty dictates. As it was I that started this thread yonks ago I feel I should comment.
My car was still under Porsche warranty so the pedal bushes were replaced foc.
I too thought that if it was a known build fault then surely it should be a recall.
Its not the brakes sticking on, its just the brake pedal not fully returning to the "brakes off" positon so the brakes micro-switch doesn't make/break (whichever it should do when the brake pedal returns to the off position) and when you press the accelerator the engine ecu gets confused as to why you are pressing the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal, or so it thinks, at the same time. The ecu logic is thrown into confusion, hence the dash warning.
