R/O URGENTLY NEEDED

Helen Goff

No.1 Poster
Because i feel unable to continue as R/O region 8 urgently requires a new leader.

this region has developed over the past year and the meetings are now attracting over 40 members (and growing) it would be sad for the club to loose this region.

i had also just started doing meeting in the south of the region which were proving very popular attracting a whole new bunch of members to take part in the club. about 20 at the last meeting a shame to let down these newly aquired friends

if you interested in taking on this role then please contact Bob Lovelace regional@porscheclubgb.com or myself helen_serena_goff@yahoo.co.uk and we will be happy to discuss this with you.

Hi Helen,

What's going on???????

Steve S[:(]

steve you have a e-mail.. pointless me putting it on here it just gets deleted.(i'll try anyway )

Larry has stepped down as my assistant due to becoming a director (larry was never the R/O)but it seems i can only continue the work i have been doing over the last year if nobody else wants the job.
frankly i find this insulting and very upsetting, for me it's the final straw and i don't wish to continue putting my time and effort and a good deal of money into a club that dosn't want me there. Bobs made it very very clear my help is not wanted.

i will coninue to support the club and Larry in his role as director. and will help/support anyone who takes over the reins of organising Region 8.

What the feck is going on. First the Yorkshire RO and now Helen....

Who's next?

Mel

Could we please have a calm, reasoned comment/view from both 'sides' of this issue ?

I use the word 'side' carefully, as I am not sure that there really are sides.
Also, we have been here before (or somewhere like it), and I am not sure that everyone understood how the last 'problem' was resolved. Hence my request for a 'fair and frank discussion'; it does not have to be public, but the results, with reasoning, should be.

I don't know Helen as an R/O, so can't comment on that, but I have met her a few times, so maybe I am biased, but she does seem very pro-active in the club.

I think you have a good point Mr Bellringer. (as always the voice of reason) im willing to disscuss the situation with whoever.

you all know how to contact me by now.. either via here, BoXa.net forum or DDK.

I would have thought, that as we are "only a car club" all help would be gratefully recieved. Helen, I am confused by the approach w.r.t. snr. leadership on this matter.

Is there a question over your ability to organise, motivate, energise or invest time ? I think not.

What is behind this ? Did you forget to wave at someone in a 356 ? [;)]

Although I have spoken to Helen I have never actually met her. Whatever her faults are it is irrefutable that she has a huge amount of enthusiasm, time and passion for all things Porsche. If I employed Helen I would take that enthusiasm and determine to use it to the best for my company. I would try to identify her weaknesses and support her in these areas. If companies were to rid themselves of all of their less than perfect staff there would be no business in existence. As the club has to be run in a business like manner it would be nice to see the directors use the human resources in a better way. To be a director is not an ego trip but hard work, daily challenges and leadership at the highest level. That's what PCGB needs and too many good people are lost to the detriment of the club. When will the haemorraging stop. [;)]

Is any of the 'senior leadership' actually reading this
I am following every nuance of this and related threads.

There is no 'offending article'.

The view of the Board is that there is nothing to be gained from an ongoing, public dialogue on this subject. If anyone is really intertested in knowing what happened then I suggest they phone Bob Lovelace, David Newton or me - we will explain the substance of what happened and why.
There is no conspiracy; there is no cover-up; frankly, there is no issue...

Dear Admin

Why dont you clarify exactly what is going on then members can judge for themselves.

Otherwsie the conspiracy theories will always prevail.

As a newcomer to this club I do not know any of the parties involved but it is quite
clear that this has not been handled well and more clarity and openness will do no harm.

bit paronoid there Jeff what other threads i can't find any??? if you had closed region 8 section down as i asked you to do instead of putting that message about post being removed then i suspect no one would have noticed as the regional sections of this forum are largely un used.

As the man in the middle, I can offer what I believe is a balanced view if people want to hear it.

I will not, however, put that view down here as those with axes to grind on both sides will undoubtedly use bits of it to justify their positions.

All I would say is that I am very disappointed for the average member.

I hope the Board learn from this episode and that Helen continues to work for the Club as an enthusiastic member.

It is time to close this chapter and move on.

Sad thing is it seems 'the board' and 'admin' dont see that anything has gone wrong here..
Obviously there IS an issue here otherwise people would not find it necessary to post their support of Helen.
I also see that 'Admin' quotes several people EXCEPT for Helen who knows what the story is... why is that...

I have been a member of this club for some 8 years now and this kind of attitude stinks...
