Hi all of you R10'rs

Right.
I'd like some suggestions this year as to where we could meet up for a friendly Region Xmas meal, etc.
The Old Talbot has been fine, but I'd really like to have it somewhere a bit different this year.

Any suggestions? Please post here, please or call me if you prefer... then hopefully we can have a good do.[:)]

Hi Paul Nice alternative pub maybe - http://www.narrowboatatweedon.co.uk/ Easy to find - on the A5 north of Towcester.

Thanks Stu, that does look nice - maybe we can have it at a weekend during the day, perhaps... any more suggestions from anyone, please? I may even suggest that we have in my most local pub (The White Horse - it’s better than it appears, actually), so I could walk around the corner to it [:D][:D][;)]

Paul, The Narow Boat at Weedon is a good suggestion, other alternatives include the Saracens Head in Towcester. Our region is spoilt for great pubs, the finest include the Queens Head at Bulwick, The Falcon Inn at Fotheringhay and The Plough at Bolnhurst. Ashley

Hi Paul; Like the idea of the White Horse - just round the corner in Sunny Silverstone [:)][:)] Just a thought (and it probably costs a fortune) but the Porsche Experience Centre does nice food and has various bookable rooms.......

Stu, if you read my post, I meant The White Horse in Bedford!! [:D][:D]... not the one in Silverstone[;)]
Just a thought (and it probably costs a fortune) but the Porsche Experience Centre does nice food and has various bookable rooms.......
Thanks for the thought, but as you say....

Hi Paul; Mmm... had spotted the Bedford connection, just a failed attempt at humour [8|]...... Agree about the Falcon at Fotheringhay - very nice.

Now that we have established a new ‘home’ for R10 at Porsche Experience Centre, I have discussed other possibilities with them, including our 2013 Xmas Meal, etc. IMPORTANT NOTE: All prices below are ‘ball-park’ (unconfirmed) at this stage, but should give you an rough idea of cost. First off, the convenient time for the Centre to accommodate us preferentially was evening - at the moment this could be any evening from Monday 9th December to Thursday 12th December. The most likely, and the date that at this stage has been pencilled in, is Thursday 12th December - so consider if you can make it. The R10 Xmas Meal, which will be held in the evening for around 7.30pm, is intended as a 3-course, etc (specifics to be confirmed) at circa £35 a head. It is essential the we achieve a minimum number of 30 covers for this, which I imagine will not be a problem, given the quality and location aspect. The Special Evening R10 ‘U-Drive’ means that if you can make it by 5pm in the afternoon, before the meal, there are intended to be half-hour session ‘tasters’ of the facility, in your own car, with an instructor next to you - with all areas usable. The guide for this is circa £35 for a half-hour. This will have to be limited to around 32, but again, I don’t think there will be a problem on numbers interested in this, either - mainly limited by what time you can get there. As I’ve said, all this is just to give an idea - I will hopefully know more specifics by next Mon/Tues (7th/8th), next week, and repost specific details. Will those who are interested, please give an indication on this thread, please, just to get some numbers rolling... At this stage, preference is for R10 members - if capacity is apparent after a time, then other region members may be able to attend. All of this is on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, of course - so keep your eye on updates. I will post all relevant information as soon as I know, so that people get the best chance to book ASAP. Hope you all like the ideas...[;)]

Noted, Andy - when I get this sorted, individuals will have to book via PEC themselves - but this is obviously not set up quite yet, hopefully soon.[:D]

Paul, Please put me down for the meal - just the one. I would like to do the drive but might struggle with timings - I will know closer to the event. Thanks Ashley

Hi Paul; Sounds like it should be a good Xmas do! Well organised - put me down for 2 meals and one drive.

Hello Paul, Put me down to drive and for one possibly two meals please. Regards, Mike 2011 997 gen 2 GT3 Carrara White 2011 Cayenne gen 2 Diesel Umber Awaited 2014 991 GT3 2014 Macan Diesel

Great...You’re all on the preliminary list... please be aware that, until the event is arranged / confirmed, I am only keeping this list to monitor your ‘intention to attend’ so I can make sure we have the minimum numbers to make this happen. When I know for certain to confirm arrangements / cost, you will be responsible for booking your requirement directly (i.e. not through myself). As stated previously, this event is for R10 members only at this stage - this may change if we have surplus capacity after intended R10 members are booked. I hope to sort this next week...

Well done Paul - sounds good to me. Not sure if I can make the drive but can you please put me down for the meal. Cheers, Jeff

OK Jeff, on the list... Spaces are going quickly as I write (5.10.13) - tell me ASAP if you want to come... you know it makes sense![;)]

Hi Paul, A great result in finding such a good new venue. 2 more please for the meal and the drive. Bob and H.
