R21 visit to the Dehavilland museum - 12th April

Hi All, I have spoken the chaps at the museum today and they are expecting us at 10:30 on Saturday morning. Here are the details: - 'I am organising a visit to the DeHavilland Aircraft Heritage Centre, London Colney ( http://www.dehavillandmuseum.co.uk/ ) on Saturday 12th April at 10:30 am. I plan for us to meet at a cafe beforehand for a tyre kick and some breakfast and then drive to the museum (About 10 to 20 miles). The visit will cost £9 per person which includes tea and biscuits when we arrive.' I understand that some of you want to meet at the museum at 10:30 which is fine - The chap who will be conducting our tour is Ralph Steiner and is expecting us. Ralph plans to park us in front of the trident they have onsite. Here is a google map link for where to meet at the museum http://goo.gl/maps/tLEaE For those who want to meet before I am planning to start the day at McDonalds (Google maps - http://goo.gl/maps/l7tVH) (Address: McDonalds, A41 Service Area, Upper Bourne End Lane, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire HP1 2SB) on the A41 at about 9:15am for coffee and anyone is welcome to meet for a tyre kick and a chat. I then plan to leave about 10am to drive down the A41 to the M25 and the around to the museum for 10:30. This event 'Is Pay On The Day' and there are still places available if you decide to join us on the day See you on Saturday Regards Jason

Hi Jason - we will meet you there as we are coming from the other direction.... well, North. thanks Kevin

Hi All, Here is some information from one of our members who knows the museum advising the best way to get in with a GT3. See you tomorrow. 'you may want to warn anyone with a GT3 or other ground hog that the main entrance has some real nasty humps!, however if you go past the main entrance (about 100 meters) and take the second entrance (I think this is labelled Coach Entrance) this is as smooth as the preverbal' Regards Jason

Hi All, Than you all for coming even though the clement weather. The morning was a great success and the very knowledgeable talk by the director of the DeHavilland museum was even more informative and interesting than we could have hoped for. On another note, I wont be organising to meet in the McDonalds car park on the A41 in the future....it's just to weird. Regards Jason
