R24 WOTY This Weekend Sat & Sun

Rita and I will be at Specialist Cars on Saturday morning in the new boxster.

R has volunteered to help with the coffee and biscuits!

Look forward to seeing you all - by the way we live in Scarborough.

If I get to North Newbald for 10ish then it will be a steady run up to Malton towards Market Weighton, York then Round the Ringroad ( A64) to Malton or we could go scenic which is Market Weighton, A614 towards Driffield then aim for Norton which is next to Malton.
Let me know your thoughts on it.

Regards,

Neil Eldred

Hi James, if you want to miss the traffic on the A64, turn off the A1079 (that's the road from Market Weighton to the York roundabout) towards Pocklington. The turn off will be a mile out of Hayton and the Yorkway Motel is a marker. Drive straight through Pocklington, keeping Somerfield, Travis Perkins on your left, heading towards Full Sutton. In Full Sutton turn right, you'll come to a T junction, turn left (you'll be on the A166 towards York). Turn take your next available right and that's the road to Malton. In Malton you'll enter at the railway lines, go straight over the bridge, follow the road to the traffic lights and turn left. That road will lead to the industrial estate where Specialist Cars is. Hope that makes sense.

Hi Neil,

My usual route is through Market Weighton to Middleton on the Wolds, through Bainton, Tibthorpe, Wet Wang and Norton to Malton. Usually takes me an hour tops. More scenic and shoud be less traffic.

So could meet you either North Newbald Village green or Market Weighton and say 10.30am to arrive Malton circa 11.30 am

Whatever is best for you.

Cheers Nige

Thanks Tracy. Fortunatly I'm born & bred in the area North of York & travel onto farms in the area on a daily basis so know the area well & all the best 'back' roads[:D][:D]

Unfortunatly I don't have time to visit Malton on Saturday, I'll be going as far as Sutton Bank & then taking my own scenic route home via Coxwold [:D]

Hi James, I realised it should have been Neil I was posting the message to, but nice to talk to you. Hopefully I'll be able to attend some of the events in the future and not be working and get to meet some other Porsche owners. I haven't seen many Porsches around here.

Hi Tracey,

I will be meeting Nige at North Newbald village green and going the route he suggested on here. I have been that way quite a few times on my motorbike and a couple of times in the porky so providing the weather is good it will be with the roof off and the wind in my scalp [:)]

Regards,

Neil Eldred

Where abouts are you? York?

My word. This thread has taken off hasn' t it.....

So its a Sat 11.30am at Specialist Cars, Malton or Sun 11am Black Sheep Brewery, Masham? Is that right?

Randolph, are you making the ride north for Sunday?? Any others??

I haven't checked the weather but did a route yesterday around Cumbria that only suffered around the A1/A66 so if we stay west of the A1 we could do a test run for the may event. It will be Masham, Leyburn then back east somewhere and then back to masham area - or something like that. We can sort it out Sunday.

Cheers

Wayne

About 10 miles east of York on the A166 towards Bridlington. If you know Garrowby Hill, I'm at the bottom. We have one of those traditional AA boxes outside. We' re in the motorbike season at the mo, so I have to watch it when pulling out of the drive. T

I know Garrowby ... I work out of easingwold, just North of York but live near Bedale.

Here is a piccy of us all @ Sutton Bank [:D]

Very good day out - it was a pleasure to meet you and all the members from Region 24 - I have sent some pictures to James to put on this site.

Possibly go to Masham tomorrow weather permitting.

Mark,

How do you access the movie of 911 Donuts? I have clicked on the link and it takes me to the site, but what happens from there?

Cheers Nige
